It was the Boogeyman.
~ Laurie to Dr. Sam Loomis in Halloween.

Laurie Strode, born as Cynthia Myers is the main protagonist of John Carpenter's Halloween franchise.

She is a young teenage girl who was hunted by Michael Myers on Halloween 1978 and gets traumatized by him to the point where she awaits his return.

She was portrayed by Jamie Lee Curtis as a teen and adult who also portrayed her 2018 counterpart and Nichole Drucker as a child.

What Makes Her Pure Good?[]

In General[]

  • Throughout the films, she tries to stop Michael Myers from causing terror.
  • She is protective of her close allies and always makes sure they're protected before fighting Michael.
  • She is a righteous killer, as she only attacks Michael out of self-defense and for her loved ones and never does it out of fun.
  • While she does curse a few times in the films, they are only when she's angry for a good reason or when she's scared and she said to Michael "she'll see him in hell" after she got stabbed because Michael has tried to kill her in the past.

Halloween[]

  • Unlike her best friends Annie Brackett and Lynda van der Klok, who are irresponsible, smoke weed, and have sex, she is a responsible and mature girl who doesn't engage in those activities.
    • Although, she did smoke marijuana, she didn't want to at first, but was only goaded into doing it by Annie, but was repulsed by it and didn't smoke it again.
  • She babysits Tommy Doyle and Lindsey Wallace and the only one who takes her babysitting duties seriously, unlike Annie.
  • When Michael attacked her at Lindsey's house, she locks the door at Tommy's house and tries to call the police, but couldn't due to Michael cutting the phone lines.
  • She protects Tommy and Lindsey from Michael and attacks him with a pin, a coat hanger, and his knife.
  • She tells Tommy and Lindsey to go to the Mackenzie's house and call the police.

Halloween II[]

  • She tried to check Jimmy's body when he passed out in a car he tried to escape with Laurie in and tried to drive it herself, but to no avail.
    • While she did leave Jimmy in the car when he was passed out, she tried to call for help when she saw Dr. Samuel Loomis and tried to go in the hospital to get help, but as soon as she saw Michael, she begged to be let in and was too scared to go back because Michael would kill her and Jimmy, but Jimmy was later shown to be okay and Laurie was relieved.
  • When Dr. Loomis gave her a gun to defend herself with, she shoots Michael in the eyes twice, blinding him.
  • She helps Dr. Loomis defeat Michael by releasing the valves on the canisters of ether and escapes the room under Dr. Loomis' orders, making Dr. Loomis ignite the room with a lighter, blowing Michael and himself up and causing Michael to collapse on the floor, burning and presumed dead.

Halloween H20: 20 Years Later[]

  • After moving to California, she became a loving and protective, if not overprotective, mother of John Tate.
  • While she did fake her death, she only did it to have a better life and escape from the trauma from Michael.
    • While she was overprotective of John and forbade him from leaving her sight, it was justified since her experience from Michael attacking her left her traumatized and suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder and was worried about him attacking her and her son John.
  • Upon finding John and Charlie off-campus, she scolds them and takes them back to school.
    • Although she was angry at John for cutting school and even cursed at him saying "What the f*ck do you think you're doing?", it was for an understandable reason as it was Halloween day and Michael kills his victims on Halloween day and she was worried that John would be killed next, and he talked Ronald Jones in letting him go without Laurie's permission.
  • While she was shown drinking, she was only dealing with her trauma from Michael and she did not let it affect her behavior as she was not shown drunk and is not abusive towards anyone since most adults drink.
  • She lets John go to the field trip to Yosemite after previously refusing to let him go and thinking about what he said.
  • When she realized Michael returned, she quickly arms herself with a gun and tries to stop him.
  • She quickly rescues John and his girlfriend Molly Cartwell when Michael attacked them and hides them in a closet to protect them from him.
  • She later drives off with John and Molly and sends them to the Becker house to call the police.
  • She grabs a fire axe and fights Michael in the school and stabs him repeatedly until he falls off the balcony and attempted to finally kill him until Ronnie Jones stopped her and declared he was dead.
  • Even though she stole the ambulance van with Michael inside, she only did it because she thought Michael was still alive and wanted to keep an eye on him.
  • Even though she decapitated what she thought was Michael, it was instead a paramedic who Michael swapped outfits with and crushed his larynx so he couldn't speak, but she truly did not know it was an innocent person, and felt remorse for it by the next movie, making this accidental.

Halloween: Resurrection[]

  • Even though she got sent to a sanitarium for accidentally murdering the innocent man, she was not crazy, as proven as she hid the pills her nurses gave her in a rag doll.
  • She sets up a trap for Michael when he arrived, which worked and tried to kill him once and for all, but failed when he killed her instead.
  • Before Michael killed her, she checked Michael's mask to make sure it wasn't another person, still feeling remorse for accidentally murdering the paramedic.
  • Although she failed to kill Michael, she still stands out for going out of her way to end his reign of terror and protecting others as well.

Trivia[]

  • She was originally approved Near Pure Good because of her overprotectiveness of John and failing the standards to Dr. Samuel Loomis, but later got approved Pure Good when it was found out she didn't fail the standards since she protected Tommy, Lindsey, John and Molly from Michael and tried to kill him herself and her overprotectiveness being justified.
  • She, her 2018 timeline, and Sheriff Lee Brackett are the only heroes of the Halloween franchise to be Pure Good.
  • She and her 2018 timeline are the only versions of Laurie Strode to be Pure Good.
