What Makes Him Pure Good[]
In General[]
- Sets the standard, not only for taking in Laurie after her adoptive parents died but for also playing a role in defeating Myers for good, thus ending his reign of terror.
- At the end of the second film when Loomis attempted to help him and the officers, he punches Loomis in the face and points a gun at him while telling him he was contemplating shooting him before later getting restrained. However, considering how much of an insensitive and uncaring jerk he was throughout the film (ex: exploiting the people Michael killed so that his book would get more sales, being an abrasive jerk in public and on tv, and traumatizing Laurie further by revealing that she and Michael were siblings in his book against his wishes), this is more of a heating up moment more than him being lethal or a beserker. Not helping much was the fact that at the time his daughter had died and Michael was holding Laurie hostage
Halloween[]
- Following Deborah Myers’ suicide, he brought the infant Laurie into a hospital, allowing her to be adopted by the Strode family
- In order to prevent her from having stress of the stigma around her and Michael being related , he omitted this in his police report so that she could live a normal life.
- Assisted Loomis in protecting Laurie from Michael and even helped get Laurie and Annie to a hospital.
Halloween II[]
- Following the events of the first film, he took Laurie in with him and Annie
- In the climax , he shot Michael in the chest, causing him to be impaled while allowing Laurie to finally finish him for good
- In the directors cut ending, he tried to stop his team as they were shooting Laurie.
Trivia[]
- He, Laurie Strode and her 2018 counterpart are the only Halloween characters to be Pure Good.
- His casting as Brad Doriff is ironic, as he's pure good, and Brad Doriff is famous for portraying Charles Lee Ray/Chucky, who is pure evil.
