We aren't his playthings... And he's no god!
~ Lex Luthor to Shazam
Your peace... Your peace is a joke...
~ Lex Luthor's final words.

Alexander "Lex" Joseph Luthor is one of the deuteragonists in the 2013 DC fighting video game, Injustice: Gods Among Us.

Unlike the mainstream counterpart, this version of Lex Luthor is a hero in his universe. He has sided with the One-Earth Regime to gain Intel from the Regime Superman while in reality he is a spy for the Insurgency.

He was voiced by Mark Rolston.

What Makes Him Pure Good?[]

  • Unlike most versions of Lex Luthor, this version was never a criminal and was a hero through and through.
    • He was even best friends with Clark Kent aka Superman (before the Injustice series) and Lois Lane. While he was in love with her but knew that Lois loved Superman, he didn't get jealous and was glad for their friendship and marriage.
  • While he does join the Regime from the start, it was an deception so he could aid the Insurgency. Even then, much like The Flash and Shazam, he did so with good intentions.
    • Joined the Insurgency during Superman's reign of tyranny.
    • Secretly gathers information from the Regime so he can stop Superman later.
  • Even though Luthor tricked Superman that there was only one Lois, when Superman asked him if there's another Lois out of the Prime Universe duplicates, this was done to stop the Prime Universe's involvement in Superman's tyranny.
    • He also attempted to reason with Superman so the Man of Steel can move on from his tragedy.
  • Saved Harley Quinn from the Prime Earth Joker when he attempted to kill her for failing him. He also told Harley not to be hard on herself for falling for another Joker's deception as well as stopping him from killing the Prime Earth Joker, despite her being justified.
    • While he tells the Joker from Prime Earth that "maybe Superman had the right idea about [him]" upon his defeat, it's justified considering what his Joker ended up causing and there is barley any difference between the two.
  • Aided Batman and the Insurgency in taking down the Regime.
  • Spread news to the public that he betrayed the Regime at the cost of his own life by the hands of Superman.
  • Sacrificed his life when battling Hawkgirl, Black Adam and Shazam to save Metropolis and Gotham City from Superman's tyranny. This helped the world see Lex Luthor as the hero and Superman as the villain, right down to even having some of the Regime members questioning their loyalty to the Man of Steel.
  • Posthumously, he gave all of his remaining assets and possessions to Batman in order to help him rebuild the world after the fall of the Regime.
