Link, also known as the Hero of Legend, is the main protagonist of the "Era of Light and Dark" saga within The Legend of Zelda franchise.

He is a young boy descended from the Knights of Hyrule. After being woken up in the middle of the night by a telepathic plea Princess Zelda, Link finds his uncle with a sword and shield in his hand about to set off. Despite his uncle's warning, he follows his uncle to Hyrule Castle only to find him gravely injured after being attacked by the castles guards. Using his dying breath, Link's uncle gives Link his sword and shield and entrusts him with the task of saving Princess Zelda.

In the Game Boy Advance port of A Link to the Past, he is voiced by Fujiko Takimoto, who also voiced the Hero of Time in Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, and their respective remakes, the Hero of the Minish in The Minish Cap, the Hero of the Four Sword in Four Swords, and the New Hero of Hyrule in Tri Force Heroes. In the remake of Link's Awakening, he is voiced by Mitsuki Saiga, who also voiced the New Hero of Hyrule in A Link Between Worlds.

What Makes Him Pure Good?

A Link to the Past

• He respects his uncle's dying wishes and rescues Princess Zelda.
• With the assistance of Sahasrahla, he gathers the three Pendants of Virtue to obtain the Master Sword, which is said to be the only thing that can defeat Agahnim, a corrupt wizard who is secretly Ganon's alter-ego.
• He frees the seven maidens that Agahnim sent to the Dark World.
• He restores all the damage caused by Ganon and Agahnim after defeating them.

Link's Awakening

• He wakes up the Wind Fish by acquiring all eight Instruments of the Sirens and defeating all of the Nightmares.

Oracle Duology

• When Onox captures Din, the Oracle of Seasons, resulting in the seasons going out of control in Holodrum, Link, with help from the Maku Tree, saves Din and defeats the evil general, allowing Holodrum to return to normal.
• When Veran possessed Nayru, the Oracle of Time, allowing her to travel to the past and wreck havoc, Link, with help from another Maku Tree, reverts the damage she caused and frees Nayru from possession.
• Frees Queen Ambi after she was possessed by Veran.
• Defeats Veran once and for all, preventing her from causing even more destruction.
• Stops Twinrova from sacrificing Zelda so they could revive Ganon.
• When Twinrova sacrifices themselves and bring Ganon back as a mindless beast, Link defeats Ganon again.
