Luca Paguro is the titular main protagonist of the 2021 animated feature film, Luca. He is a sea monster who decides to go to the surface due to becoming curious as well as fleeing from his home. He then meets Alberto Scorfano, another sea monster who had lived on the surface for quite some time.

He is voiced by Jacob Tremblay.

What Makes Him Pure Good?[]

Despite humans having a fearsome reputation in the underwater, Luca didn't hate them in turn, and was excited to go to the surface.
Befriended Alberto Scorfano, who was going through abandonment issues due to being abandoned by his own father.
While Luca did lie to his parents about going to the surface, he only did this as he didn't want to go to the Deep Sea for seasons at a time.
After he was caught going to the surface, Luca tried to reason with his mother that the surface isn't as dangerous as they fear.
Decided to take part in Alberto's plans to win the Portorosso Cup to win a Vespa, not for any selfish reasons, but only to travel the world freely.
Befriended Giulia and protected her from getting bullied by Ercole Visconti.
When Ercole tried to bully both him and Alberto, Luca raised a spear to protect both of them.
While Machiavelli, Giulia's cat, was hostile to them due to them being sea monsters, Luca (along with Alberto) slowly befriended him.
Saved both Alberto and himself several times from being exposed as sea monsters due to the danger of being discovered by Portorosso's people.

Despite betraying Alberto by pretending to be scared of him as a sea monster, Luca only tried to safeguard his friendship with Giulia, not out of any ill intent.
- When Ercole and his gang attacked Alberto after his exposure, Luca was horrified, showing he didn't seriously want to endanger him.
Stopped the bike when he and Alberto witnessed Giulia's injured state from pushing Ercole, though the Underdogs did eventually win out of a technicality.
