May (called Haruka in the original Japanese) is a supporting protagonist in the Pokemon anime. She is a 10-year old girl who, along with her brother Max, joins Ash Ketchum in his journey in the Hoenn region. She begins training to be a Pokemon coordinator, competing in contests and helping Ash foil the plans of villainous organizations like Team Rocket.
She was voiced by KAORI in Japanese, and by Veronica Taylor in Seasons 5-8, and currently by Michele Knotz in Season 9-present.
What Makes Her Pure Good?[]
- She's very optimistic and caring to her Pokémon.
- She helps many people and Pokémon with their problems.
- She helps defeat Team Rocket many times and rescues Pokémon from being captured by them.
- She helps foil Team Magma and Team Aqua's plans to unleash Groudon and Kyogre, which could have destroyed the world.
- While they sometimes fight, she's protective of her brother Max and looks out for him.
- She develops a close bond with Manaphy and helps it save its home.
