Um, Nick? You know that problem of yours? That problem where you present evidence that makes no sense? You're doing it again.
~ -Maya Fey
I thought you'd come. I knew you would. Now listen up! You'd better get Engarde a guilty sentence, OK!? If you get that creepy slimebag a not guilty, I'll never forgive you, ever! I'm fine, so you don't need to worry.
~ Maya, telling Phoenix he better get Matt a guilty verdict at the cost of her life or she will never forgive him.

Maya Fey is one of the two tritagonists (alongside Athena Cykes) of the entire Ace Attorney franchise, serving as the tritagonist of the original trilogy and an major character of Ace Attorney: Spirit of Justice.

She is a spirit medium who first appears in the first game, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. She's the younger sister of Mia Fey and the best friend of Phoenix Wright, who served as his assistant in Wright & Co. Law Offices, before she departed to Khura'in.

What Makes her Pure Good?[]

  • Despite being Phoenix Wright's most common defendant, she isn't willing to kill anything or anyone.
  • She instructed Phoenix to press witnesses in Turnabout Sisters when he did not know how to use evidence against Dick Gumshoe's testimony.
  • After being acquitted of her sister's murder by Wright, she vows to stay by his side and help him in his trials anyway she can.
  • As a Spirit Medium, Wright in the original trilogy relies on her to channel his mentor her sister Mia Fey. She isn't always able to do this which throws her into a depression as she thinks she is useless. She snaps out of it at the end of Turnabout Goodbyes when Wright shows her that the Bullet taken from Gregory Edgeworth's heart was actually saved by her from Von Karma, allowing his guilt to be proven.
  • Got herself thrown in contempt of court during Lotta Hart's testimony in order to give Phoenix a second chance to prove Edgeworth's innocence.
  • In Reunion and Turnabout she made it clear she wouldn't channel a killer willingly.
  • In The Lost Turnabout she brought Phoenix the list of con artists as evidence for the trial of Maggey Byrde.
  • In Farewell, My Turnabout, she is kidnapped by Shelly De Killer under orders from his client Matt Engarde to force Wright to defend him. Despite this she is willing to die either by starvation or by De Killer's hands to make sure Matt gets the guilty verdict he deserves.
  • After Godot killed Misty Fey (Maya's mother) while she channeled Dahlia Hawthorne, she channeled Dahlia to prevent Pearl from channeling her and Dahlia from killing her.
  • She tried to protect Godot in court who saved her life in Bridge to the Turnabout and is much too unhappy when Wright insists on proving Godot's guilt in the murder of Misty Fey who was channeling Dahlia Hawthorne at the time who previously poisoned Godot/Diego Armando and put him in a 5-year coma.
  • After Iris was acquitted from murder, Maya tried to show strength for the sake of Pearl.
  • She is kidnapped again in Spirit of Justice by Justice Minister Inga in his attempt to gain spiritual powers and usurp the throne from his wife: Queen Ga'ran. Dhurke (Apollo's foster father and the leader of the rebellion) tries to rescue her but is shot and killed by Inga who Dhurke manages to scare away before collapsing. As his final request, he begs Maya to channel him so that he could both free her and see Apollo one last time. She tearfully obliges.
  • She helped Phoenix investigate for the trial of Ellen Wyatt.
