Michelangelo, called simply Mikey, is one of the four titular main protagonists of the 2012 Nickelodeon version of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
He is the youngest member of the TMNT. He is the youngest brother of Karai, Leonardo, Raphael, and Donatello, and the youngest adoptive son of Master Splinter. He is considered "The Wild One" of the team; because he has a strange way to do, but he’s always dependable.
He was voiced by Greg Cipes.
What Makes Him Pure Good?[]
- While he may be considered the most dim-witted member of the TMNT, he is always loyal, dependable, and honest to his family and friends.
- While he does make a lot of mistakes in the show and they do lead to the turtles' problems, he does make up for them and shows remorse thoughout the show.
- Although he teases his brothers a lot, especially in the earlier seasons, it's only because he tries to show them new techniques, plus the pranks he does to them are harmless, thus making his mischief not a corrupting quality. Additionally, he matured as the series progressed and didn't annoy or prank them as much.
- He never takes it out on Raph because he always hits him when he annoys him.
- Whenever his brothers bully him unjustly and don't treat him with respect or listen to him, he usually forgives them.
- When a pigeon man, named Pete, looks for April and the turtles think he's trying to kidnap her (when in reality he was trying to give the girl a message about her kidnapped father), Mikey thinks of an easy and less painful way to lure the pigeon, like crumbs of bread, knowing that birds like bread.
- When the turtles stumble across a mutant alligator, later named by Mikey as Leatherhead, Mikey wanted to help him and because of his compassion, it allowed Leatherhead to befriend him and the turtles.
- Developed the cure for the mutant parasitic wasp virus and injected it into his brothers. Plus, once the wasps hatches out of the egg, he leads them away from his brothers to prevent the wasps from eating them.
- Thanks to his quick thinking, he was able to lead the squirrelanoids away and trap them.
- While he does knock Dogpound into the Baxter Stockman's vat of mutagen, turning him into Rahzar, it was only because he couldn't hold to the plank he was hanging on to since Dogpound was too heavy and he already tried to warn him not to destroy the platform he was standing on as they would've fallen into the vat.
- He was the only one who believed that April's mother was actually a Kraang like mutant experiment and tried to protect everyone including April from it.
- In Battle for New York: Mikey messes with some of Donnie's chemical to make plutonium for retromutagen. He used several ingredients: sodium bicarbonates, a skeleton of a fish, an eaten apple and half of slice of garlic cheese pizza. When Donnie saw what Mikey's doing to the retro mutagen, he became enraged. Donnie tries to stop him, but one drop of it falls in the retro mutagen, which starts to bubble and foam; it looks like it will explode, but it didn't. Donnie angrily tackles Mikey and the two tussle until Splinter comes and pressure points both of them, demanding to know what is going on as April states that the retromutagen started to sparkle. Donnie scans the mutant cells and reveals that Mikey's Plutonium perfected the Retromutagen. Also it takes a drop of it to turn a whole canister of mutagen into retromutagen. Donnie asks him what chemicals/ingredients he used to help create the rapid cellular bonding, but Mikey only remembers using were Anolite, moronic acid, and some garlic cappuccino pizza. When Donnie is about to berate him, Master Splinter says that Mikey's tomfoolery made something that can save New York City. This makes it easier for Donnie since he used the same serum to instantly turn all of the mutagen in one of the Technodrome into retromutagen to turn all of the Kraangatized people back to normal, and it's all thanks for Mikey's actions that they've succeeded their mission.
- When Karai starts to redeem herself and regret her past actions, Mikey quickly agrees with Leo to help her, so much so that he accepts Karai as his sister.
- He is willing to show forgiveness towards others such as Karai, Slash, and Fugitoid.
- He tries to reason with Shredder, albeit unsuccessfully.
- During the final showdown with Super-Shredder and his minions, he threw a batch of retro mutagen on Baxter Stockman, turning him back to normal. When he was ungrateful and stated he liked being a fly, Mikey deservedly knocked him out for being a jerk.
- Repaired the Seal of the Ancients and stopped Kavaxas from ending the world.
- He killed Count Dracula since he knows the vampire was too dangerous and would pose as a threat if he was spared.
Trivia[]
- So far, this is the only incarnation of Michelangelo to be Pure Good.
- He, Leonardo (TMNT 2003), Fugitoid (TMNT 2003), and Agent Bishop are also the only Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles characters to be Pure Good so far.
