Mirio Togata, also known by his hero name Lemillion, is a major supporting character in the My Hero Academia franchise. He served as the deuteragonist of the Shie Hassaikai arc.

He is a prestigious student at U.A. High, and the leader of the Big Three, the three strongest hero students at U.A. High while being not only the most powerful of the big 3, but also the strongest hero candidate in Japan. He was also the former student of the late Sir Nighteye, and the top candidate to inherit One for All from All Might, before Izuku Midoriya was chosen.

His quirk was Permeation, which allowed him to become intangible. He originally lost it at the hands of Shin Nemoto, who shot him with a Quirk-Destroying Drug. Thankfully, due to efforts of Eri, his quirk was restored.

He is voiced by Tarusuke Shingaki in the Japanese version of the anime, while in the English dub, he is voiced by Ricco Fajardo as an adult, and Megan Shipman as a child.

What Makes Him Pure Good?[]

In General/Background[]

  • Unlike many other heroes or heroes-in-training, Mirio wants to become a hero out of a genuine desire to save people and plans to save one million people.
  • Despite being one of the strongest U.A students, he always remains humble towards others.
  • He befriended Tamaki Amajiki when they were in elementary school, believing in his dream to be a hero and serving as an inspiration for Tamaki to become stronger and have more confidence in himself.
  • While he did fight against Class 1-A, even when fighting against them, he made sure to incapacitate them as quickly as possible yet still apologized for his wardrobe malfunction.
    • Not to mention, the fight was to explain why Work Studies were so important and how experience can be a big factor in turning him from a weak student to the best hero candidate in all of Japan.

Season Four (Shie Hassaikai Arc & The U.A School Festival Arc)[]

  • He helped Izuku by telling him about internships and even offered him a spot at Sir Nighteye's internship.
  • Though he did leave Eri in the hands of Kai Chisaki instead of trying to rescue her when he and Izuku first met her, it was only because he knew then wasn't the right time to attack (as he noticed Chisaki about to get violent and attempt to kill them) and in order to bide time for a better opportunity to save her. However, Mirio still felt extremely guilty in abandoning her, falling into a deep sadness and vowing to save her the next time.
  • During the Shie Hassakai Raid, Mirio rescues Eri and fights alone against Overhaul and his top soldiers all in order to protect Eri, vowing to her he'd never let her down again.
  • Mirio shielded Eri from a quirk-destroying bullet, sacrificing his quirk in order to protect Eri all while smiling to reassure her.
  • Even after losing his quirk, Mirio refused to give up the fight and continued battling against Overhaul and his men for a full five minutes, giving Sir Nighteye and Deku the time to arrive and help save Eri.
  • Despite being saddened by his mentor's death, Mirio continued to smile and remain optimistic all to honor his dead mentor's teachings and to not make Eri sad.
  • Mirio refused Izuku's offer to receive One For All since it would cause Izuku to endure hardships.
  • Along with Izuku, he took Eri to the school festival and managed to make Eri smile.
  • Upon seeing Eri smile, Mirio is driven to tears of joy and smiles along with her.
  • He spent the time he was quirkless being there for Eri and helping her adjust to new life at U.A. High.

Season Six (Paranormal Liberation War Arc)[]

  • He asked Eri to restore his quirk so he could assist the heroes to fight against the Paranormal Liberation Front. He even apologizes for this request, to which Eri reassures him was alright.
  • After regaining his quirk thanks to Eri's assistance, Mirio went to the front lines of the Paranormal Liberation War, fending off the High-End Nomu and allowing Best Jeanist to restrain Gigantomachia uninterrupted.

Season Seven (Final War Arc)[]

  • Assisted in the fight against Shigaraki in the second war, trying to avoid letting anyone die and feeling extreme guilt when Shigaraki killed Bakugo.
  • Felt bad when he told Shigaraki he didn’t have any friends and the latter lashed out that he did, apologizing to him despite the many heinous crimes Shigaraki committed.
  • Distracted Shigaraki to allow Midoryia into UA so he could fight him.
  • Reassured Midoryia when he nearly lost his composure upon seeing Bakugo dead, informing him Edgeshot is reviving by Bakugo, allowing Midoryia to defeat Shigaraki. This is especially notable because Shigaraki (who was possessed by All For One at the time) was prepared to predict his moves and snap Midoryia’s spine.
  • Carried an unconscious Hado to safety.

Manga[]

  • According to Hado, its thanks to him why her and Tamaki’s wounds were able to heal as they did and would’ve been far worse without him, because he kept helping them after Deku left UA.
  • Became the number one hero in the future, showing he went on to commit many more heroic deeds in the future.
