Trivia[]
- Moana is remarkable for being the first Pure Good Disney Princess who comes from a freshly made Disney Princess film, since she and her namesake film don't have any pre-existing sources, unlike her fellow Pure Good Disney Princesses before her.
- Moana is the first Pure Good Disney Princess to not have any established love interest; Pocahontas doesn't count because she was initially into John Smith during their original appearance. Coincidentally, both of them are, on a technical basis, tribal princesses.
- With the release of Moana 2, Moana herself became the first Pure Good Disney Princess to star in a non-original Disney Princess film; neither Princess Jasmine nor Princess Rapunzel count, as the former only starred in direct-to-video sequels (and is not even the protagonist of them), while the latter only leads a made-for-television follow-up.
- Interestingly, before Auli'i Cravalho's casting, one of Moana's proposed actresses is Emma Stone, who previously played Gwen Stacy from The Amazing Spider-Man films, a fellow Pure Good.
