Montgomery "Monty" Wigglestein Uno is the overarching protagonist of Codename: Kids Next Door, serving as the deuteragonist in Operation Z.E.R.O.
He is the father of Numbuh 1, but in the movie, he is revealed to be Numbuh 0, the founder of the modern age of the KND Organization (the 7th Age of the KND), the son of Grandfather, as well as the older brother of Benedict Uno and the adoptive uncle of the Delightful Children From Down The Lane.
He was voiced by Frank Welker as an adult and Dave Wittenberg as a kid.
What Makes Him Pure Good?[]
- He founded the 7th Age of the Kids Next Door, who would go on to save the world from several evil adults and protect children across the world.
- He freed the world's children from Grandfather's tyrannical rule, refusing to give in to fear despite knowing how powerful Grandfather was.
- Even when he was decommissioned, he was still a very affectionate, if not rather clueless, father who is very caring and nurturing towards his son Nigel and the rest of his family members.
- While decommissioned, he loves spending time with his family and always puts them first.
- After regaining his memories as a legendary KND operative, he helps Nigel to stop Grandfather and save the world from his evil grasp a second time.
- Despite having saved the world and being revered as a legend, Monty does not take his status with pride, openly telling his son he was only able to defeat Grandfather with the help from his team.
- He momentarily recommissions Sector Z and somberly notes they would return to being the Delightful Children at any time.
- He convinces his brother Father to help him and Nigel in stopping Grandfather from turning the whole world into zombies, giving him another chance despite all of the terrible things his brother had done against his son and the Kids Next Door.
- He stands up to his abusive father, Grandfather, and refuses to give him the Book of KND when he demands it.
- He resists Grandfather's zombification process long enough for Numbuh One and his team to launch the moon base.
- Together with Numbuh One, he has himself and Grandfather decommissioned again, wiping both of their memories and defeating Grandfather once again.
- He destroys the Recommissioning Module to make sure his son didn't restore his memories. Despite admitting that he wanted to go on several adventures with his son and Sector V, he says he's not a kid anymore and that he needed to focus on completing his most important mission: being a good father to Nigel. He entrusts the Book of KND to his son to protect it for future generations.
- When his memories are restored by the Galactic Kids Next Door, he urges his son to go into space to be a part of the organization and shares a parting hug with Nigel.
- Unlike most of the other characters of the series, Monty lacks any corrupting factors and serves as one of the most heroic and pivotal characters of the series.
Trivia[]
- Ironically, his father and son are respectively Near Pure Evil and Near Pure Good.
