Mother of Ultra, whose real name is Ultrawoman Marie is one of the major protagonist of the Ultraman franchise, having made her first appearance in Ultraman Taro which aired from 1973-1974. She is the wife of Father of Ultra, the mother of Ultraman Taro and Ultraman Ace (the latter through adoption), and the grandmother of Ultraman Taiga

Within the world of the Land of light, she is often considered one of the most important figures there (alongside Father of Ultra and Ultraman King) due to her role as the commander of the Silver Cross Aid, a medic relief unit which was made mainly for the Inter Galactic Defense Force.

What makes her Pure Good?[]

In General[]

  • Due to her role as the commander of the Silver Cross, she is ultimately responsible for overseeing the medical aspects of the land of light (mainly the Intergalactic Defense Force)

Past[]

  • During the Ultimate wars, she nursed and healed many Ultras who had been injured in battle
  • During Ken and Belial’s confrontation with Alien Empera, she handed Ken the Ultimate blade. Following this, Ken was able to fight Alien Empera and eventually wound him, thus forcing him into retreat as well as ending the Ultimate wars as a result.
  • Following Alien Empera’s defeat, she asked Belial if he managed to recover from his wounds (possibly implying that she tended to him after the war was over)
  • At some point either during or after the Ultimate wars, her and Ken both adopted  Ace as their son after his biological parents had been killed in battle
  • During Belial’s revolt against the land of light, she helped a couple of Ultras get to safety
  • After Taro got scolded by Father of Ultra for wanting to be exactly like him, she comforted him as he was crying before eventually clarifying to him that Ken really wanted him to try and be even better than him. As a result of this lecture, Taro took it to heart and even went on to share it with Tomoya when he was experiencing a similar situation with his own father

Ultraman Story[]

  • In the beginning of the film, she broke up a fight Taro was having with a monster named Dokkun and eventually got him to apologize to Dokkun after clarifying that his species were peaceful. Additionally, when Taro revealed that he thought all monsters were bad, she and Ken were quick to explain to him that he was wrong and that there were actually good monsters as well.
    • Following this, her and Ken took Taro into space and began  teaching him the core values of being an Ultra and how their purpose was to stop the evil forces that threaten the universe. Because of this, Taro became inspired to become a great Ultra warrior and began training with Father for years up until adulthood.
  • After Ken scolded Taro for getting distracted while training, she calmly questioned whether or not he was being too harsh on him, to which Ken replied by  reassuring her that Taro’s spirit wouldn’t be crushed by a light scolding.
  • After Ultraman, Zoffy, Seven, Jack, and Ace got turned to bronze by Alien Hipporito, she alerted Ken of the news and began looking after Taro while Ken traveled to Earth to save them
  • While Ken was fighting against Alien Hipporito, she helped Taro finish his training by donating her energy beam into his horns, something that later helped out during his battle with Grand king
  • Additionally, when Taro started feeling guilty for “causing” her to sacrifice too much of her energy for him, she briefly reassured him that everything was fine
  • After Ken sacrificed his color timer to revive Ace, she helped restore/revive him back to health once the Ultra brothers brought him back to the Land of light
  • During the Taro and the 5 Ultra brothers' battle against Juda’s monster Grand King, she advised the 5 of them to fuse their energy into Taro’s horns, ultimately turning the battle in their favor and allowing Taro to defeat Grand King using the Cosmos Miracle beam, leading to Juda retreating.

  • Additionally, earlier in the episode, she took on the form of Kotaro’s deceased mother and used a handkerchief to bandage a wound he received on his arm. While bandaging, she handed him the Ultra badge, a device that would allow him to transform into Taro.  Because of this, Kotaro and Taro were able  to help ZAT defend earth from Giant monsters and alien invaders throughout the coarse of a year
  • Furthermore, after bandaging  Kotaro’s wound, she went on to advise him to never give up his dreams, something he took to heart by the series finale
  • After Kotaro got eaten by Live King at the end of episode 2, she began traveling to Earth in order to try and save him from getting digested.
  • In episode 3, she healed Taro’s fractured arm and help him defeat Live King for good

  • Within the context of Hikari’s story seen throughout Mebius and onwards, she is ultimately the one responsible for him eventually joining the Space Garrison. For context, prior to him joining, he had sacrificed himself (as Hunter Knight Tsurugi)  in order to defeat his arch enemy Bogal. However, rather than letting him die, she instead decided to bring him back to life and remove his arb armor, this way he could have a second chance at life while also learning how to become a better hero.
