Musashi Haruno is a major protagonist in the Ultraman franchise, serving as the main protagonist of Ultraman Cosmos. He is the human host of Ultraman Cosmos, who seeks to create a world where monsters and humans can coexist.
As an adult he is played by Taiyo Sugiura. As a child he was played by Kounosuke Tokai

- Like Cosmos, he is ultimately a pacifist who seeks to protect all monsters and usually tries to avoid violence as much as possible unless absolutely necessary or when their was no other choice.
- As a result of his pacifisim, he slowly started influencing how his crew mate Keisuke perceived handling monsters, with him growing more and more determine to protect them as the series went on

- When he was 11, he wanted to become an astronaut in order to honor his late father, Hiroyasu Isohata after he died in a rocket accident
- Used aluminum foil to reflect sunlight onto Cosmos, reviving him in the process after he got injured by Basical.
- Helped summoned Cosmos, allowing him to fight with Basical and defeat him, preventing him from being able to destroy humanity.
- Successfully stoped Cosmos from getting nuked

- In episode 2, he joined EYES in order to help them protect monsters.
- In episode 3, he helped inform the rest of guys that Spittle was disturbed by the sounds of airplanes, thus allowing them to postpone majority of the airplanes that were going to fly.
- Additionally, he also managed to distract Spittle away from an airplane
- In episode 13 and 14, he saves Reni Kurosaki from getting put to sleep by the higher ups of EYES
- Before running in to stop Chaos Jirak, he made a promise to Kota that he would save Akane from it.
- In episode 20, he saved Captain Hijra from getting injured by Bolgils
- In episode 22, he helped find Mutsuya and help him escape Juran
- In episode 26, he helped Shota get to safety before he went to fight against Chaos Header
- Upon learning that the JADF were going to use an anti-monster tranquilizer, Dream Sleep (that hadn’t been tested yet for side effects) on Golmede Beta, he was the first one to admit his disproval of it
- In episode 33, he helped get Junya Nagare to safety and managed to convinced him to let go of his hatred towards monsters.
- In episode 37, he told Keisuke that “Cosmos would never run away”, inspiring him to later defuse the bomb that had been removed from Taildas during the climax, preventing it from killing lots of people nearby
- In episode 44, he saved a kid from getting by a blast from Mugera’s kind’s ship
- In episode 51, he convinced Alien Koise June that he, Cosmos, and EYES were peaceful and that they want to protect monsters
- In episode 59, he got Keisuke to safety after Chaos Header/Chaos Ultraman injured him
- As he was lying in EYES medical room a sleep, he reassured Cosmos that he didn’t need to fight by himself anymore and that humans would be able to protect earth with their own hands, with him later saying e was going to fight without his help.
- Later in the episode, despite not being in good condition, he still ran to confront Chaos Header/Chaos Ultraman.
- In response to hearing Cosmos saying he was going to fight alongside with him to the very end as he was going to confront Chaos Ultraman, he responded that he felt the same way.
- After defeating Chaos Header in its Chaos Ultraman form a second time, he reassured Cosmos that he would continue to fight
- In episode 65, he successfully revived cosmos as a result of his determination and courage and later helped revitalize his energy with an object Cosmos had given him before temporarily bonding with him again.

- In response to Cosmos admitting he was proud of how much kindness and courage he had in his heart, he responded that he learned it from him.
