Serial Designation N is the deuteragonist of Glitch Productions' horror comedy web series Murder Drones.
He is a former Worker Drone turned vampiric Disassembly Drone who was sent to kill all the Worker Drones with the help of V and J, but after meeting Uzi Doorman, he started to question his actions, and eventually betrayed his team and became an ally of Uzi and the other Worker Drones.
He was voiced by Michael Kovach, who also voiced SMG0 in SMG4 and Doey the Doughman in Poppy Playtime.
What Makes Him Pure Good?[]
In General[]
- Although he starts off as a Disassembly Drone who killed many Worker Drones and humans, this doesn't hold up as a prevention for the following reasons:
- Unlike V and J, not only does he not show any sadistic glee whenever he kills, but he shows open remorse and hesitance in doing so and has elected to spare Worker Drones like Uzi, defying his programming despite knowing it would put himself at bad odds with his teammates. It's also worth noting that he needs to regularly feast on the oil inside the drones in order to survive.
- Later in the series, it’s revealed that he and the other Disassembly Drones were once regular Worker Drones on Earth. However, he had his memories wiped while also turned into a weapon of destruction for the Solver against his will. Prior to meeting Uzi, N had no recollection of his time on Earth nor fully understood the ramifications of his and the other Murder Drones' actions. Once he learned the truth, however, he felt immense guilt.
- Before he redeemed himself, he thought the drones he was killing are corrupted, not understanding how wrong his actions were.
- Even though N has to compete the admirable standards with Uzi as she is the one who directly defeated the Absolute Solver and has lot of influence. N is arguably equally as admirable as Uzi since he kept her mental state well when she needed him and he has defeated the solver too as well.
- He's overall a selfless person overall, he willingly allows himself to get pushed around by J and V, keeps a polite attitude while he gets cut opened by Beau and getting himself hurt whenever Uzi is controlled by the Solver to prevent it from harming others.
- He even managed to be a compassionate boyfriend to his girlfriend Uzi, even managing to solve her insecurities of being alone.
Background[]
- As a worker drone, he politely served the Elliotts couple and remained patient with them despite how vile, ruthless and disrespectful they are.
- When he and V bumped into each other on accident, he apologized for it even though it's actually V's fault because she wasn't looking.
Murder Drones[]
- While Uzi pretended to be a new member of N's Disassembly Drone squad, N was highly sociable and polite with her, never once badmouthing his teammates for their treatment of him as he describes them to her in detail.
- Despite trying to kill Uzi after realizing her ruse, he genuinely felt bad about doing so, stating that he enjoyed their time together while raiding their base.
- After watching Khan leaving Uzi behind to die by his hands, N immediately took pity on the girl and tossed her aside to hide her when V and J arrived so they wouldn't kill her.
- He helped Uzi in stopping J and V from killing the Worker Drones' colony.
- He tricked V so they could end their fight quickly and without killing her so he could be able to save Uzi from J.
- He helped Uzi when she had a program override.
- He questioned Uzi's plan to wipe out humanity, and in a way, N actually tries to get her away from her plans of genocide.
- He stopped Uzi from hitting V with a screw driver.
- He apologized to a member of the WDF for his past actions.
- He saved Thad twice from the Absolute Solver.
- He saved Uzi from being eaten by the Absolute Solver.
- He stopped the Absolute Solver from continuing its killing spree, and while he repeatedly stung it with his tail, it was only because it was trying to kill N and Uzi by sneaking up on them.
- He decided to lock himself in his ship with V because he believed that they were too dangerous for the Worker Drones.
- He refused to allow V to go on a killing spree at the prom.
- After V freed herself, N went to the Worker Drones' prom to stop V from massacring everyone in there. Along the way, he quickly forgave and reconciled with Uzi for upsetting him with her fear over what the Disassembly Drones really were.
- He saved V from being killed by Doll.
- During their fight with Doll, N saved Uzi numerous times, including pushing her so she wouldn't take Doll's attacks.
- Despite how rude Lizzy was, N still thanked her for helping him and V.
- He didn't step on a cockroach that he found in Doll's room.
- He criticized V for killing one of the Worker Drones.
- He saved Rebecca from falling into a frozen lake. In general, he shows the drones camping at 98.7 a legitimately fun time to keep everyone busy while Uzi searches the labs for answers.
- He stopped V when she was going to kill Uzi and stood up to her over her keeping him in the dark about the truth of their circumstances and the Solver.
- He went to find Uzi after she ran away.
- He saved V from Solver-possessed Uzi and told the former off for antagonizing the latter.
- He calmed Uzi down after she got corrupted by the Solver, and comforted her after she was feeling sad about her killing workers and consuming their oil, and the possibility of him leaving her. He also promises they would stick together from that point forward.
- He pulled Uzi's arm out of a beam of sunlight when he noticed that it was hurting her.
- He defended Cyn from Louisa Elliott when she made it clear she was about to hurt Cyn, saying that he told Cyn to say that they were not going to be thrown out anymore in order to receive Cyn's punishment, which caused him to be tied into a tree to be attacked by crows.
- Before being pecked to death by the crows, he befriended them and was genuinely hurt on an emotional level when they turned on him.
- He gave V her glasses to help her lift a scalpel, which made V briefly able to retake her body and saved her from the Solver's wrath. This nearly got him digitally lobotomized, only being saved by Uzi's timely return.
- He went to see if V was okay after she was dropped by Solver-possessed Uzi.
- He helped "Tessa" get down to the underground facility in Copper 9.
- While he does try to shoot at Beau when he sees that they were trying to get him, Uzi and V into a trap, it was only because he knew they were going to probably kill them, and despite Beau trying to dissect him later, N ends up being nothing but polite towards him.
- He stopped Uzi from using her Solver powers since he was aware that the Absolute Solver would possess her if she did.
- He cut off Uzi's hand to stop her from being corrupted by the Absolute Solver.
- He tried to convince V to not give her life to save the rest of the group.
- Although he asks Uzi to use her Solver powers to take the rubble that was blocking them from returning to V, and threw rocks in her and "Tessa's" direction in a fit of desperation, this was an accident and when he saw what was happening with Uzi, he immediately apologized and told her it was okay for her not to use her powers.
- When "Tessa" revealed her plans to kill Uzi and started insulting Uzi, N refused to allow her to continue with the plan and explained to Uzi that while they weren't going to hurt her, it would be better for her to not come with them as she could get in danger. He later shows remorse over inadvertently alienating Uzi.
- Even when threatened by Nori not to tell Uzi about her, N refused to promise to Nori not to tell the truth to Uzi. Instead, he promises to wait until she is ready to tell Uzi herself.
- Despite "Tessa" having tried to kill Uzi, N still gave her a chance to explain herself, and while he killed her when she refused to answer and tried to manipulate him, N was still horrified over what he had done. Having seen "Tessa" try to kill Uzi and with the strong possibility at the time that she knew about the crucifix patch, this was the only viable option for N anyway.
- On that note, when Nori asks N which Solver host, either Uzi or Doll, was trying to kill them a little while prior, N pauses and might have suspected even then that "Tessa" could have been secretly taken over by the Solver. In any case, the callousness "Tessa" periodically demonstrated ever since they entered the labs seems to have given N plenty of cause for doubt.
- He gave Uzi the crucifix patch so she could heal herself from the Absolute Solver, unaware it was actually controlling her.
- Despite being given multiple chances, N refused to kill Uzi despite being possessed by the Solver, even nearly giving his life to save her.
- His revealing to Nori he was dating Uzi helps in turning Uzi back to normal, and distracts the Solver long enough to stop it from devouring Nori.
- He was shocked when Uzi kicked Nori into a flesh pit and called her out on this, while also immediately regretting breaking his promise of secrecy to Nori.
- After helping Uzi regain control over her body from the Solver, N comforted her.
- He rescued Uzi when she ended up going outside the planet's orbit, with him apologizing to Uzi when she revealed she was talking with her mother. He also adopted his usual forgiving attitude after calling Uzi out on sacrificing herself to save him and decided they can talk later about it.
- He saved Uzi when her core was about to get devoured by the Solver.
- N warned V about the Solver to save her when she profusely apologized for not being fully honest with him about the Solver, despite knowing he would be putting his life at risk by doing so and not even being entirely certain whether he was calling out to the real V, nearly dying doing so.
- While Uzi was distracted by the Solver's final trick by disguising itself as N and pretending that she killed him, he and V save Uzi when she was about to be killed by J.
- He helps Uzi in fighting and defeating the Solver, saving Copper 9 and the universe from it.
- While N is seen in the credits consuming oil from a Worker Drone's head, it’s unknown where he got the head from and could have very well been from a corpse he found, and he only consumes their oil in order to survive from overheating.
Fight Til I'm Good Enough[]
- When N receives a note from Uzi's parents telling him not to let Uzi down, he begins to feel bad if he does let her down.
- Even though he helps Uzi and V pull a prank on Lizzy by closing the door in front of her, the prank is harmless and he quickly got concerned when he saw Lizzy still walking towards the door due to being zombified.
- Even though he's shown killing a Worker Drone, he didn’t really have a choice considering the Worker Drone was zombified by the Solver.
- While N did put Uzi in danger by shooting the ceiling, causing rubble to fall and get Uzi stuck, it was accidental and he felt remorse for causing it.
- He later on fights off the infected, almost solving the problem until the Solver infected Sparky.
- When he realizes the Solver is causing the infection, he slaps and shakes it, causing it to undo the outbreak and saving multiple drones like Lizzy and Thad from being essentially zombified by the Solver.
- While he violently shakes the Solver/Uzi's tail, it was to stop it from zombifying more drones and is completely justified considering what the Solver has done.
Trivia[]
- N is the only character in Murder Drones who is Pure Good. In contrast, every other character either has lethal tendencies, displays many jerkish moments, acts as an anti-hero, fluctuates between heroism and villainy, or fails to meet Admirable Standards.
- His SMG4 counterpart doesn't qualify as Pure Good because he lacks any heroic moments and shows sadistic behavior in his attempts to kill Mario.
