Nia Teppelin is the secondary female protagonist of the anime and manga series Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, and the tritagonist of it's later two arcs. She is the disowned daughter of Lordgenome, leader of the Beastmen and the main antagonist of the series' first season. She appeared later after Kamina's death, when Simon found her sleeping in a capsule. She is also Simon's main love interest in the series.

She is voiced by Yukari Fukui in the Japanese version, while in the English version, she is voiced by Hynden Walch as a teenager and Bridget Hoffman as an adult.

What Makes Her Pure Good?

• Her influence is what held the initially unstable Team Dai-Gurren together.
• During the team's final battle with Lordgenome, she told Simon that she believed in him and gave him the confidence he needed to kill Lordgenome once and for all.
• While she initially declined Simon's marriage proposal to her, she soon after accepted it following a conversation with Kiyoh and Kiyal.
• After Kamina's death, she supported Simon, telling him that he wasn't helpless on his own and that he shouldn't be so dependent on Kamina.
• She eventually chose to follow Kamina's words following the latter's death and believe in Simon with the entirety of her being.
• She helped Simon destroy Anti-Spiral with the rest of Team Dai-Gurren in spite of the knowledge that she would disappear along with Anti-Spiral if it was destroyed.
• She managed to keep herself alive for an entire week after the Anti-Spiral was eradicated all out of sheer willpower, just so she could survive long enough to marry Simon.
• Even while dying, she reassured Simon that she was fine with doing so because she knew that he could still save the universe without her.
• Overall, she lacks the corrupting qualities that many other heroes in the series have.

Trivia

• She is the only Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann hero to be Pure Good.
