I PROMISED I'D STAY SAFE... AND TO KEEP THIS PLACE SAFE. I WON'T DISAPPOINT THEM.
~ Papyrus.
I KNOW, I CAN'T SOLVE EVERYTHING WITH KINDNESS, BUT, BY DOING THIS WAY, I MANAGE TO SAVe SOMEONE I THOUGH I HAD LOST FOREVER. USUALLY, WHEN THING SEEMS LIKE THEY CAN'T GET ANY WORSE, IN THAT MOMENT YOU HAVE TO TOLD ONTO YOUR HOPES, BECAUSE THAT'S THE MOMENT WHEN THINGS WILL GET BETTER.
~ Papyrus to Frisk.

Papyrus is one of the main protagonists of Glitchtale; he is a minor, yet a crucial character in season 1 and one of the major characters of season 2. He is the youngest brother of Sans, the youngest son of Gaster, a former member of the Royal Guard, and Frisk's best friend.

What makes him pure good?[]

  • Much like his canon counterpart he's very kind, merciful and honorable.
    • Unlike his canon counterpart however, he doesn't act rude towards Sans (Although that was never really a migrating factor to begin with).
  • He refused to fight Frisk on the Genocide Run, instead offering mercy out of hope that they'd change their ways.
    • Even when that doesn't happen and he is beheaded and crushed, he shows no ill will towards them.
  • When he notices Sans knocked out, he places his scarf over him out of comfort.
  • He attempted to help who he thought was a little girl stuck on the hook of a crane (in reality he was under a hallucination caused by Bete Noire).
  • Despite her role in his brother's death, Papyrus showed no animosity towards her unlike Gaster and even forgave her.
  • He protects Jessica from one of Gaster's attacks for assisting in killing Sans.
  • Once Sans was revived by Betty to fight Frisk, his immediate response was to assist in the situation.
  • Not once did he fight Sans while he was under HATE's control. It was thanks to this and his encouragement that Sans was able to break free.
  • After Gaster unintentionally hurts him during an argument, Papyrus doesn't get angry and instead comforts him with a hug.
  • He protected Sans while he was in comatose, as well as the house from the pink creatures.
  • After Sans wakes up, they set off to the city and they fight Betty with their father, Gaster.
  • He mourns his Sans' second death after he pushes himself to save him and Gaster after Betty takes control of an entire wall of Gaster Blasters summoned by him.
  • When Gaster starts draining the magic in his soul to kill Betty, he only stops him once he realizes that he's killing himself in the process and yells at him in order to get him to stop.
    • It's worth noting that Papyrus was completely content with dying if it meant getting rid of Betty. The only reason he stopped his father was out of concern for his life and not his own, again showing his selflessness.
  • He protects Chara and Asriel from one of HATE's attacks.
  • Despite the high admirable standards, Papyrus easily stands out due to him risking his life various times to save his friends and family from certain death.
  • Unlike the other characters in the series, he has no corrupting factors.

Trivia[]

  • This is the second version of Papyrus along with his Canon Counterpart which are both pure good.
    • Papyrus is also the only Pure good character in glitchtale.
