~ Peter defeating Ego. |
Peter Jason Quill is a titular major character in the What If...? episode "What If... Peter Quill Attacked Earth's Mightiest Heroes." He is a version of Star-Lord from a universe in which Yondu never had his change of heart and delivered him to Ego, instead of keeping the child for himself.
He was voiced by Mace Montgomery Miskel.
What Makes Him Pure Good?[]
- He mourned the loss of his mother's life.
- When Ego told him he had Celestial Powers and ordered him to start his conquest, he admitted he did not want to kill people at all, which tragically had him brainwashed into doing Ego's bidding.
- After being imprisoned, he talks peacefully with Hank Pym's daughter Hope van Dyne and after getting a new music player from her, he becomes freed from his brainwashing and reconciles with the heroes.
- He rightfully gets angry at his father for brainwashing him into killing trillions of people. Then he absorbs his seed and uses the energy from it to shoot Ego and have all of his consciousness imprisoned inside him for an eternity, preventing Ego from destroying Earth and saving billions of lives.
- Since What If...? takes place in several different universes, he sticks out due to the low admirable standard in his own universe.
- Although he had done several heinous actions such as destroying Asgard and attempting to destroy all of Earth, he was brainwashed into doing all of this by Ego and unlike the Winter Soldier, he has not picked up any new personality or identity to be rightfully considered a villain, so he cannot be blamed for all of the damage he inadvertantly caused.
- Also, he said at the beginning he never wanted to kill people in the first place, which means he was already good before the brainwashing.
- He overall lacks the many jerkish and wrathful attributes his mainstream counterpart has from start to finish likely due to him not being raised by Yanduu and still being an child.
