Phil Eggtree is the main protagonist of the 2006 Newground Flash Game Series Riddle School.
He is a sarcastic yet well meaning kid who after being given a sudden reality check after him escaping school almost caused the world to be destroyed, would begin the path to true redemption, becoming an all around hero who respects what school does for people.
What Makes Him Pure Good?[]
In General[]
- While he started off with several corrupting qualities, such as being rebellious towards authority and repeatedly trying to escape school, as well as being a jerk to others, by the end of the series he not only came to respect school and its value, but his jerkishness is also massively toned down, with him at most making sarcastic quips that are clearly made in jest and not meant to hurt anyone's feelings.
Riddle School 5[]
- After waking up from his stasis and freeing himself, he decided to free his friends from their simulated dreams as well, despite having the option to leave them behind.
- He freed his friends from the simulated dreams they were trapped in, and while it is true that his methods were incredibly brutal, he had no choice but to do this as it was the only way to free them and he showed no sadism in what he's doing either.
- He stopped Viz from destroying the world using the Doomsday Device by directing the weapon towards him, leading him to be frozen and ultimately shattered by an asteroid, thwarting his plans for good.
Riddle Transfer[]
- After freeing himself from his jail cell in Zone 5.1, he went on a quest to free his friends from their cells as well.
- Throughout his journey in the facility, he helped several of the creatures inside, such as giving Bog Toe a fancy top hat, giving the Negotiable Snowman hair spray allowing them to grow their hair back, flushing Messie down the drain, allowing him to once more be free in the outside world, using Zack to free the Flying Pig from his cage, allowing them to be free again, and giving Goat-Man fresh green grass to munch on.
- He freed Diz from his imprisonment in hopes he can use his spaceship to fly him and his friends out of there.
- Him freeing Diz from Zone 5.1's controls indirectly stopped Quiz from collecting all the necessary data he needed on him, thwarting his plans of world domination.
- When Diz betrayed them and left them for dead, Phil directed his friends towards a manhole cover in order to escape from Zone 5.1's guards.
Riddle Transfer 2[]
- When he and his friends were running from laser fire from the Zone 5.1 guards, he rushed into the portal room and after all of his friends get inside, sealed off the entrance, stopping them from coming inside.
- He teleported himself and his friends back into Riddle Elementary school in order to complete evade the guards.
- When Riddle Elementary School was unexpectedly raided by Quiz and his forces, he took it upon himself to free the entire school.
- When he encountered Chubb again, he apologized for all of the mean-spirited jokes he made towards him, showing that he has moved past randomly insulting people.
- After making it to Quiz's office, he proceeded to expose him for the insecure person he really is, and then encouraged him to redeem himself and allow him and the rest of the school free.
- While he did call Quiz stupid during his interactions with Richie, this is understandable as he had locked him and his friends in Riddle Elementary, and even so, he grew to respect him later on, meaning that this corrupting quality has been subverted.
- When Diz was revealed to be a traitor, he took it upon himself to go with Quiz to stop him from destroying the world.
- Before leaving, he personally confessed his feelings to Smiley, saying how he used to tease her because he didn't understand her, but that he now views her as a real role model for him.
- He played a crucial part in stopping the world from being destroyed a second time.
- He was shown to be visibly saddened when Quiz chose to sacrifice himself in order to stop Diz, even hesitating to leave before Quiz insisted that he do so.
- As seen in the credits, he not only got together with Smiley, but would then go onto go through his school years and graduate from college, showing that he has completely moved past his desire to escape school.
