Primus is the overarching protagonist of the Transformers franchise. He is the benevolent god-like entity of the Transformers multiverse who fought against his twin brother Unicron, the chaos-bringer, at the dawn of time. The Lord of the Light, Primus is the being who created the Transformers to help him defeat Unicron. After defeating Unicron, Primus transformed into the homeworld of the Transformers, Cybertron.
His presence exists throughout the Transformers multiverse, but in some more than others. In some universes, he is not visibly present or mentioned, however one thing that is ever present across all the Transformers universes is the presence of the All Spark, the core essence of Primus himself which in every universe is the source of Cybertronian life.
He was voiced by Ron Halder in Transformers: Energon and Michael Donovan in Transformers: Cybertron and Tesshō Genda in Japanese dub.
What Makes Him Pure Good?[]
- He is the creator of the Transformers race and served as the living energy core of Cybertron.
- In Energon, he saved a young human named Kicker Jones from falling to his death and gave him the power to detect Energon.
- He used his power to defeat his twin brother Unicron to stop him from eating the Multiverse.
- He helps Optimus Prime and the Autobots if they are at a disadvantage.
- Never has any jerkish moments.
- He made Optimus Prime grow to his size on two occasions:
- To defeat Unicron.
- Prevent Cybertron from getting destroyed.
- Even though he accidentally created a black hole, he fixed his mistake by destroying it before it can do further damage.
- Despite being a cosmic entity and is said to be the God of Light, nothing confirm that Primus lack moral agency or is Made of Good.
Trivia[]
- He is a complete foil to his brother Unicron, who is Pure Evil and sought to wipe out all life.
- His Transformers One counterpart doesn't qualify due to not having enough characterization despite having traits of a benevolent leader.
