This article pertains to a Pure Good with more than one version who is Pure Good!

I've been keeping watch over you all this time... I've witnessed your struggles to return to us, as well as your trials in battle. I always thought... no, I always believed... that you would find a way to defeat Ganon. I never lost faith in you over these many years... Thank you, Link... the Hero of Hyrule. May I ask... Do you really remember me?
~ Princess Zelda.
I know why I am here. It's... something only I can do. We will finally stop him. I'll be forever changed. Link... you must find me.
~ Zelda realizing how to stop Ganondorf.
Mineru... I'm counting on you. Link. I will restore the Master Sword for you. I will care for it until the time comes. I will pour my sacred power into it. It will be the weapon that defeats the Demon King! You must... Link! Protect them all!
~ Zelda's last words before transforming into the Light Dragon.

Princess Zelda Hyrule is the titular deuteragonist of the “Era of the Wilds” saga within Nintendo‘s The Legend of Zelda franchise.

She is the latest chronological incarnation of Zelda in the timeline, now serving as the Princess of the kingdom of Hyrule. She has been through many hardships, including being destined as the reincarnation of Hylia, her struggles with accessing her sacred power, dealing with an overbearing father, and the stress of the disasters at stake.

She is voiced by Yū Shimamura and Patricia Summerset in the Japanese and English versions of the games.

What Makes Her Pure Good?[]

  • She threw herself between Link and the Guardians, which in turn, awakens her power that she had been struggling for years to do so, saving Link's life and deactivating all the Guardians in the surrounding area. She then went on to have Impa hold on to a message for Link involving that he must free the Divine Beasts, and Purah and Robbie to assist him in any way they can, and returns the Master Sword to have the Great Deku Tree watch over it and heads out to seal Calamity Ganon in Hyrule Castle for an entire century to keep Hyrule and the rest of the world safe while Link is recuperated in the Shrine of Resurrection, in a way making her responsible for Link knowing what is happening despite his condition regarding his amnesia and going out to save the Divine Beasts from the Blight Ganons that have cut the lives of the Champions short.
  • She also previously spearheaded the research on the Sheikah Slate and the Divine Beasts, as well as assembled the Champions to fight Ganon.
  • She went back to face Calamity Ganon on her own and ended up sealing him away in Hyrule Castle, and would keep him at bay for the next century until Link was finally healed enough to wake up and go on to regain his memories and former strength, only stopping her struggle when too exhausted to continue.
  • At the end of the game, after Link manages to defeat Calamity Ganon in his scourge form and subsequently wear him down in his Dark Beast, she re-emerges to seal him away for good with her light power.
  • Even at times when she lashed out at Link before he saved her from the Yiga, since he succeeded at something she could not, it was more due to her insecurities rather than anything truly malicious and even admitted in her journal entry that she regretted yelling at him. She subverts this later on after he opens up to her about his own insecurities, to the extent she becomes closer to him than with anyone else, and as noted above, returned the favor of saving his life when he has on the verge of death.
  • In the time between Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, she personally volunteers her time and contributes her personal funds in the effort to rebuild Hyrule. Among other things, she helps to build a school at Hateno Village and later teaches classes there.
  • In Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, she managed to end the fight between Link and Revali.
    • In addition, Princess Zelda rushed back to Link when he was dealing with Astor and the Blight Ganons alone, which had also awakened her power. After defending both strongholds, Zelda takes command of the Hyrulean Army to directly lead an attack on Calamity Ganon with the surviving Champions and her own father. Even after losing Terrako, she pushes forward with the warriors, until they persevered.
  • At the beginning of Tears of the Kingdom, Zelda ventures down into the depths of Hyrule castle to investigate a strange illness that has been affecting her people.
  • When she arrives in the past, she wants to help her ancestors in their time, instead of just going back to her time, even though she is worried about Link.
  • She saved Sonia from being killed by her impersonator, the Phantom Ganon, though Sonia would end up being mortally wounded by Ganondorf, who steals her Secret Stone to become the Demon King. She then used her Purah Pad to get King Rauru and Queen Sonia (who later dies of her wound) to safety when Ganondorf, as the Demon King, tried to kill them.
  • She helps the Sages distract Ganondorf long enough for Rauru to imprison him for a very long time.
  • Knowing that Rauru's seal wouldn't hold forever and Ganondorf breaking free in the present age, Princess Zelda goes to the Sages and tells them to aid Link and their biological descendants. She even undergoes draconification (becoming the Light Dragon) by swallowing her Secret Stone to help repair the broken Master Sword and strengthen it to its full potential for Link to retrieve later, while losing herself and accepting the possibility that she would remain a dragon until the end of time.
  • After Ganondorf becomes the Demon Dragon and takes Link in an attempt to kill him, Zelda, despite being a mindless dragon, came to his rescue and helps in the fight to destroy him once and for all.
  • After being restored to normal, Princess Zelda, Link, and the present-day Sages vow to ensure Hyrule's eternal peace.
