Poppy (formally known as Queen Poppy and formerly known as Princess Poppy), is the main protagonist of Dreamworks' Trolls franchise. She served as the main protagonist of both Trolls and Trolls: World Tour, before she became the deuteragonist of Trolls Band Together.

She's the queen of the Pop Trolls, the daughter of former King Peppy, and Viva's younger sister. She's also the best friend and later, official girlfriend of Branch.

In the film series, she's voiced by Anna Kendrick, while in the non-canon TV series, Trolls: The Beats Goes On, she's voiced by Amanda Leighton.

What Makes Her Pure Good?[]

In General[]

  • She tries to be a good queen for her subjects.
  • She never gives up on any situations that she has to face/go through, especially if it's for the bergens or her fellow trolls.
  • Although she acts overconfident, she displays little to no arrogance and feels remorse for acting that way.

Trolls[]

  • She is the first to understand Branch's gloomy behavior.
  • She didn't mean to lead Chef into the Troll Village by throwing the "biggest, loudest, craziest party ever", it was an accident.
  • Despite her father objecting against this, she decides to go save her friends from Chef by giving the whole tribe Branch's bunker so they can be safe.
  • She tries to stop Branch from trying to attack Cloud Guy before he led them to Bergen Town.
  • When she sees Bridget being in love with King Gristle Jr., she was convinced that Bergens have emotions and don't need to eat trolls to be happy.
  • She feels bad for Branch when he reveals that he can't sing due to his grandmother's death.
  • She chooses to save Creek with the other trolls when Bridget tells them to leave.
  • While she strangled Creek, unlike Branch, it was justified because he betrayed them and also, she backs off and demanded an explanation.
  • She feels guilty for getting every troll into a pot even though it wasn't her fault.
  • When Bridget gave her a chance to escape, she chooses to go back and save her from a severe and unfair punishment from Chef.
  • She taught the Bergens that they all can live happily and freely without eating any trolls.
  • She and Branch have love for each other, even changing the latter for the better.
  • She helped King Gristle Jr. and Bridget have a very close relationship.

Trolls Holiday[]

  • She tried to help The Bergens by showing their on her species holiday traditions.

Trolls World Tour[]

  • Despite her father and many others thinking the opposite, Poppy was the first one to believe that all trolls from all genres or music should be reunited instead of being enemies and split apart.
    • She also succeeded to reunite them which made all trolls (including her father and friends) from all types of music to live happily.
  • She wanted to befriend Barb.
  • She rightfully called out on Branch for attempting to use violence.
  • She went on a journey on stopping Barb from taking away music.
  • She felt remorse for not listening to her friends, such as Branch and Biggie.
  • She sympathized with Barb, once the latter told her about on how people wanted to know what she wanted to hear.
  • She stopped Barb from turning trolls into Rock Zombies.
  • While she did destroyed the strings including music, this was only to prevent everyone from being turned into rock trolls, she also felt guilt for it.
  • She made her former archenemy Queen Barb redeem herself and help her see the error of her ways.

Trolls Holiday In Harmony[]

  • She tried to make a gift for Branch.

Trolls Band Together[]

  • She was willing to listen to Branch when he was feeling stressed, no matter what was causing it. A good example of development from the previous sequel.
  • Before knowing who he was, Poppy demands that John Dory leaves Branch alone when he was tossing him around, as what he was doing was causing both a scene and distress for Branch.
  • Though she gets excited about BroZone, she convinces Branch to go on a mission solely to save his brother, Floyd.
  • She accompanied Branch and John Dory on their mission to save Floyd.
  • She supports Branch and his brothers as they practice and grow closer.
  • She grows a stronger than life bond with her long lost sister, Viva.
  • She sympathizes with Viva when she learns she was separated from the family.
  • She holds no grudge against Viva for trying to keep them from leaving, and invites her to go with them to save Floyd. She temporarily declines, but Poppy doesn't force anything and leaves her to think things through, even if it made Poppy sad.
  • She attempted to practice the perfect family harmony with Branch and three of his brothers as she tried to help them, which they all appreciate.
  • Seeing three of Branch's brothers arguing with each other and treating her boyfriend like a baby, she didn't hesitate to take Branch's side after he rightfully calls out three of his siblings for their behavior.
  • Realizing that John Dory made the same mistakes she made in the previous films, she gave him the advice he needed to see his error, which gets through to him, as he ends up feeling guilty for his past actions and how he treated his brothers, even realizing that his friendship with her touched his heart. Poppy's advice to John Dory even hits Spruce and Clay as they also show remorse for hurting their older brother and Branch.
  • She chooses to go with Branch to save Floyd together.
  • When Branch, broken heartedly, accuses Poppy of eventually leaving him, though it hurts her, she still stays by his side, as she has from the moment they met. Reminding him that both of them have been there for each other, and that she won't go anywhere that Branch isn't, properly giving him the support and comfort he needed.
  • She helped Branch find Floyd and assured the latter that they were here to rescue him, which was before she and Branch found out that the rescue was a trap set up Velvet and Veneer.
  • She helped free Rhonda and Crimp as they were trap in a closet.
  • She comforts a stressed out Crimp with a hug.
  • She help Branch save the rest of his brothers when they got captured by Velvet and Veneer as well.
  • She immediately forgives Viva for her traumatic actions and tells her than even if their history is complicated, they will be perfect as long as they’re together. Indirectly helping Branch realize that his and his brothers history is complicated as well and it was perfect when they were together instead of apart.
  • She and Viva join the brothers to create the Perfect Family Harmony to free them from the diamonds.

Trivia[]

  • Poppy is the only Pure Good hero from Trolls.
