| ~ Her Catchphrase, every time she ends an episode, in the Ladyblog. |
| “ | Alya: You didn't tell us everything, did you? A journalist and a BFF can tell these things. (Marinette feels guilty and sadly sits down) Alya: I won't try to figure it out or force it out of you. (sits beside her) If you can't tell me what's in your heart, it's your right. Marinette: Will we still be friends? Alya: Marinette. I'm your best friend, and I'll always be. That's why it kills me that I can't help you with whatever's making you feel so alone. (Alya sighs, and is about to leave Marinette's room when Marinette grabs her hand.) Marinette: Alya, wait! Stay. You're right, I am alone. (grows increasingly emotional) More than ever before. I can barely take it anymore! You know why I broke up with Luka? Not because I don't like him, he's amazing! It's 'cause there's something that I can't tell him. You know why I have to forget Adrien? For the exact same reason! You're right, I keep secrets, I lie all the time! I lie to my friends, to my parents, to everyone and the worst thing is, I can't do it any other way! Alya: There's always another way. Marinette: No, not this time. I have no choice. All this is bigger than us, Alya. Way too big. Alya: If it's too big, two of us can handle it better than one. Marinette: If I tell you, things will never be the same between us again. (shakes her head) It'll mess up everything, maybe even destroy it. Alya: (voice breaking) Marinette, I'm your very best friend. Marinette: And I… I'm Ladybug. |

| ~ Marinette reveals her identity to Alya in the end of, “Gang of Secrets” |
Alya Cesaire, aka Rena Rouge, is one of the deuteragonists of Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir. She is Marinette’s best friend since the Origins, Nino Lahiffe’s girlfriend, owner of the Fox Miraculous, and since "Gang of Secrets" she is one of the few characters that knows Marinette is Ladybug. She was a temporary permanent holder of the Fox Miraculous from Optigami-Strikeback. Her identity changed to Rena Furtive in Rocketear to Strikeback, then she gave the Fox Miraculous back to Ladybug, and Shadow Moth took it, and she would never be turned to Rena Rogue again, until "Re-creation" when she was given back the miraculous of the Fox again after a new universe was created, and this time she was to keep the Miraculous permanently.
She was voiced by Fanny Bloc in the original French version and Carrie Keranen in English. The former also voiced She-Ra in the French dub of She-Ra and the Princesses of Power. For the Korean version, she’s done by Kim Eun-ah, who also did Wonder Woman for DC Super Hero Girls 2015.
What Makes Her Pure Good?[]
In General[]
- She forgave Marinette multiple times, one time in "The Mime", when Marinette stole her phone, and when she confessed it, Alya forgave her.
- Serves as a loyal friend to Marinette and is willing to protect her whole family at all times and would do her best to save both them and her friends if they’re in trouble.
- While she has been akumatized several times meaning she is not incorruptible, these can be justified:
- She was first akumatized into Lady Wifi because Chloé got her suspended.
- She was akumatized into Rena Rage because she was hit with Dark Cupid's hate arrows.
- She and Nino were akumatized into Oblivio because they were embarrassed, and they apologized for it anyway.
- She was akumatized into Lady Wifi again because Adrien's cousin Felix sent an mean video to her and the rest of Adrien's friends.
- She was again akumatized into Lady Wifi because of Marinette saying she no longer wanted to be her friend anymore and she was able to break free of Shadow Moth's control and they made up in the end.
- It is very likely Alya won't get akumatized again after "Gang of Secrets" as she knows that Marinette is Ladybug, and this could put her and her family and friends in danger.
- While she didn't listen to Marinette about Lila being a liar, this is due to Lila being extremely manipulative and how she's very talented at lying. When she found out in Confrontation that Marinette was right about her the entire time, a deleted scene of the episode showed she was very remorseful and apologized to her.
Season 1[]
- When they first met, the first thing she did is to tell Marinette to stand up for herself and encouraged her.
- She started a blog to discover who Ladybug is. Although this would make things worse, she was doing what is good.
- She helped defeat Horrificator.
- She was easy to forgive Marinette when deleted her favorite video and stole her phone.
- She tried to stop Marinette when she was going too harsh on Lila.
Season 2[]
- She tried to protect Marinette from her akumatized grandma, turning to coal in the process.
- She encouraged the other girls to help Marinette so that she could confess to Adrien.
- With the fox miraculous, she turned into the superhero "Rena Rouge" to protect the city on multiple occasions.
- She sacrificed herself so that Ladybug, Cat Noir and Chloé could defeat Zombizou.
- She was trusted with the Bee miraculous by Ladybug.
- She (again) sacrificed herself for Ladybug so that she wouldn't get hit by Style Queen, turning to dust in the process.
- She took a major part in the Heroes Day fight, and sacrificed herself so that Carapace wouldn't get hit and akumatized. (Her getting hit got Carapace akumatized anyway).
Season 3[]
- She created an illusion so that Ladybug could get her powers back from Miraculer.
- After finding out what she does is dangerous, she quits trying to unmask Ladybug, and decided to help her unmask Hawk Moth.
- She didn't lose hope in Marinette when Lila accused her of stealing her necklace and started to search for clues.
Season 4[]
- After breaking free from Shadow Moth's control, she becomes Rena Rouge again and helps Ladybug and Cat Noir defeat the other members of the Gang of Secrets.
- She showed Ladybug that there were more to her powers of creation then what she puts on herself thus leading to the creation of the magical charms.
- She comes up with a plan to convince Shadow Moth that she is no longer using the Fox Miraculous in order to help Ladybug from Shadow Moth's traps and plans without him knowing.
- She temporarily uses the Ladybug earrings to become Scarabella when Marinette and her parents were visiting London.
- She gave up her Miraculous in "Strikeback", to protect her friend’s identity and her loved ones, along with apologizing to Ladybug for telling Nino that she's still Rena Rouge in secret to avoid miscommunication.
Season 5[]
- After she and the members of the French Miraculous Superhero Team lost their miraculous, she joins Nino's resistance in order to help Ladybug and Cat Noir defeat Monarch.
- Even though it was temporarily, she assumes her identity as Scarabella again after Marinette renounced her role as Ladybug.
- She becomes Scarabella again in order for Marinette's plan to defeat Hoaxer to work.
- She and the other members of the resistance fought against Monarch's army of Miraculized people.
Season 6[]
- In "The Illustrator", she and Nino try to figure out who the new holder of the Butterfly Miraculous is by questioning the aforementioned holder's recent akumatized victims.
- In "Daddycop", when she and the other girls were reluctant to invite Sabrina over because of her reputation as Chloé's helper, Zoé calls them out for not giving her a chance to show that she has changed by saying that if it wasn't for Sabrina, they still be suffering from Chloé's relentless bullying. Luckily, Alya doesn't deny Zoé's statement because she knows that she's right.
- In "Revelator", she helped Marinette publicly expose Vincent Aza, who was using his channel "Vincent Secret" to spread misinformation about others, as a fraud. This act also fixed Marinette's reputation as she and her family received harassment and vandalism to their bakery due to lies he was spreading about her.
- While she was initially angry at Marinette/Ladybug for keeping Monarch's identity a secret from Adrien, her reaction is understandable. Adrien deserves to know the truth about his father no matter how harsh it is, and Marinette broke her promise not to tell any more lies. However, after hearing Marinette/Ladybug's reasoning for why she hadn't told Adrien yet, she realizes that not all secrets are meant to be shared. Consequently, she allows Cat Noir to use his Miraculous Cat Noir to erase the memory from her mind.
- After her memory was erased, she begins to wonder why Marinette would ever think she would be angry with her. Believing that Marinette must be carrying a secret that weighs heavily on her, one that she can't share with anyone, she promises to help her through it in any way she can.

- In "Wreckless Driver", when Ray comments that he would never go to therapy, calling it "lame", she responds appropriately, stating that it could help to be beneficial for someone as "senseless and mean" as he is.
Trivia[]
- Her voice actress, Carrie Keranen, also voiced Wilma Sledkin, from Dragons: The Nine Realms, who ironically is Pure Evil.
- So far she is the only member of the Miraculers to be Pure Good.
