What Makes Him Pure Good?[]
- While he started off with some corrupting factors such as arrogance, slight jerkishness, and incompetence, he started to subvert all of them when he became more noble, humble, and brave.
- His initial dislike of Sid is understandable given the fact that Sid trashed his place and initially wanted him to serve him and was being mean to him, he also flushed him down the toilet and showed satisfaction towards this, however Roddy was able to forgive him beyond this and decided to give him his place as Tabitha's pet, viewing him as now an ally.
- After breaking Rita’s ruby and revealing that it is fake, he realizes the true reason why Rita wants the ruby or find way to get money because her and father were working in drains for years but her father broke every bone to get the ruby that he could never walk or work again so he apologizes and makes a deal with her to get her a new one in return of her returning him to his home.
- He was kind to Rita's family and even offered to take Rita's mother's dishes for her.
- Although he stole the Jammy Dodger, he only thought that Rita was going to sell him out to the Toad when he overheard her and her brother's conversation about his plan, but apologized when it was revealed to be a misunderstanding.
- Upon returning, he honors the deal he made with her and gave her a real ruby to help make her rich beyond her wildest dreams like he said and he also gave her a emerald for a Jammy Dodger II.
- Although he refused to go with Rita back to Ratropolis and preferred to stay at his original home, he soon feels remorse for this and realizes that he is better off with Rita's family and apologizes to Rita for his arrogance when he goes to save her.
- After realizing the Toad’s plan to let in a flood to drown all the rats in Ratropolis, he instantly goes back but not before allowing Sid to stay at the place, treat and nicely looked after his owner.
- Upon returning, he saves Rita from the Toad’s clutches before trying to escape him and his minions.
- He saves Ratropolis from being drowned by the waves by tricking The Toad, who was tricked by Rita into getting his foot frozen on a nitrogen pipe, into getting his tongue stuck in gears so that it would break the pipe and freeze the water before it could drown the ratizens.
- In the end, he prefers to stay with Rita's family and helps Rita rebuild the Jammy Dodger II and he, Rita and her family travel in the sewers.
- Whenever he makes a mistake or causes an accident, he always apologizes and will try to make it up to the people he unwittingly offends or there was a reason for it.
- When he and Rita were escaping The Toad's lair through a zipline, Roddy grabs on her and accidentally breaks her belt, making her underwear expose, but he truly did not intend to do that and was only trying to escape with her, meaning he's not a pervert in any way.
- Also, he accidentally touched Rita's behind when he was reaching for the paperclip to free them both, which is again accidental.
- While he did inadvertently offend The Toad by saying his collection was "amusing" and caused most of The Toad's collection of items to break, it truly was an accident and he wasn't trying to offend him in any way and he tried to correct what he meant.
- While he threw a fish away while he was being washed down the sewers, he was only scared and creeped out at the moment after have just been flushed down the sewers. But he later looked to him for the directions to the Jammy Dodger and thanked him and Pegleg for the directions.
- When he and Rita were getting away from the Toad's henchmen, he accidentally kissed a bride and made her land in the sewage, but only because he was disgusted when he kissed her at the moment and he and Rita were being chased by the Toad's henchmen, but he did show remorse for this and said "congratulations by the way".
- He did throw the maggots that were on his spoon away in the sewage, but he was only disgusted after realizing what he was eating and nobody would be okay eating maggots.
- And while he did put a slug in Rita’s grandmother’s mouth, making her kiss the slug, he was only trying to escape her unwanted advances on him since she thought he was Tom Jones and wouldn't stop and was being a bit perverted, and she is elderly while Roddy is a young adult.
- When he and Rita were escaping The Toad's lair through a zipline, Roddy grabs on her and accidentally breaks her belt, making her underwear expose, but he truly did not intend to do that and was only trying to escape with her, meaning he's not a pervert in any way.
