Let me introduce myself: Roman Bridger. Director and brother
~ Roman introducing himself to Sidney
she slammed the door in my face, Sid. She said i was Rina's Child and Rina was dead. And it struck me. A great idea. So i watched her. When i found out Maureen has a second daughter, i wanted to meet her and do a little family film. That would be you. And i'm glad to meet you. I just wish Maureen, mom, would be glad to meet me. I'm not mad, because i know it's not her fault. It's John Milton. I know what he did to our mother, and with your help, we're gonna make him pay
~ Roman talks with Sidney about his intention to imitate the killers and kill Milton
Sidney is alive, and there's nothing you can do about it
~ Roman's final words after emptying Gaston's rifle

Roman Bridger is a major character in Friends I Don't Have franchise, serving as the tritagonist in The Most Dangerous Movie. He was Maureen Prescott's lost son, who was born after she was raped by John Milton. After being shunned by Maureen, Roman decided to look for Sidney in order to have a family and atone the sins behind their shared mother's tragic life and death.

He was portrayed by Taron Egerton.

What Makes Him Pure Good?[]

  • Unliked (and in stark contrast to) the canon Roman, who chose to become a sadistic serial killer out of a petty reason, this version chose to become a good and devoted person who holds no grudge against Maureen's refusal to be his mother. He could've take things as they are and lay low, but instead he decided to bond with his half-sister Sidney and be there for her the best he can.
  • Wanting to kill Milton doesn't make him lethal. He just wanted to make things right, fully aware to the fact that if Milton won't be killed, he would cause more damage and hurt more people. In addition, he never targeted civilians and never enjoyed the thought of killing Milton beyond brining peace to his and his sister's souls and avenging their mother.
  • When Angelina strangled Sidney, Roman surprised Angelina for long enough for Sidney to get back on her feet and gave Sidney a flamethrower, which Sidney used to burn Angelina for good.
  • When Gaston was about to kill Martha and Gale in order to force Sidney to surrender, Roman convinced him that killing him and Sidney would be more satisfying in order to discourage Gaston from killing Martha and Gale. He didn't really intend to let Sidney get killed. He just said that in order to save Martha and Gale, fully intending to fight Gaston and end his reign of terror forever.
  • He fought Gaston, even making him emptying all of his bullets, and sacrificed himself. He didn't just take the bullet for Sidney. He kept going even after being shot multiple times thanks to his brotherly determination, and even stabbed Gaston with the last of his strengths.
  • Even after emptying Gaston's rifle, Roman was glad Sidney alive and felt no fear about his impending death, as shown in his last words, reminding Gaston that Sidney will stay alive despite his worse efforts.

Trivia[]

  • Roman is the second Pure Good in Friends I Don't Have franchise who falls under adaptational heroism, predated by Cotton Weary.
    • He's also the third adaptational heroism character who was a Ghostface in the canon, predated by Billy and Nancy Loomis, who's called Debbie Loomis in the fanfic, and followed by Amber Freeman. Richie doesn't fall under adaptational heroism, because his Friends I Don't have version is more of an abrasive civilian than a legit hero.
  • Roman is the most dramatic case of adaptational heroism in the franchise, as he's the only hero whose canon counterpart is Pure Evil.
