Roos Tarpals is a minor character in the Star Wars franchise, serving as a supporting character in Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace and the season 4 episode "Shadow Warrior" of Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
He was a Gungan general and close friend of Jar Jar Binks, both of whom led the Gungan Army to defend Naboo from the Trade Federation invasion. He was also best known for being the only person able to defeat and capture General Grievous, although it came at the cost of his own life.
He was voiced by Steven Speirs in The Phantom Menace and was voiced by Fred Tatasciore in The Clone Wars who also voiced AAARRRGGHH!!! in Tales of Arcadia and Pacha in the Tv Series.
What Makes Him Pure Good?[]
- When he first meet Jar Jar he was likely worried to see his exiled friend back and because he followed the rules at the time. He also warned Binks that he was in "big doo-doo" this time when he arrived with two Jedi.
- He led the defense of Naboo from the Trade Federation, giving orders to fire and retreat against the droid army.
- He saved Jar Jar from being killed by a tank.
- He was the only Gungan general that didn’t want a race war between gungans and humans.
- He helped shut down the entire Separatist Droid Army to prevent another invasion of Naboo before it even began.
- He saved Jar Jar again by drawing General Grievous’ attention to him and away from Jar Jar.
- He sacrificed himself to capture and defeat Grievous by stabbing the general and telling Jar Jar and the Gungans warriors to throw plasma boomas at Grievous, disabling the general.
- He stands out for his actions for having much fewer resources than most Star Wars heroes by defeating Grievous, despite not being a Jedi, nor having the Force or a lightsaber, as well as standing out as the most heroic and most admirable out of all the Gungan characters.
