“ | They would enjoy the feeling of my mind splashing against theirs, the voices temporarily leaving my head and flooding into theirs. When I was giving my wonderful gift, I could think rationally, as I can now. When the voices return to me, as they always do, they are angry. This was why I was left. I was meant to be a giver of knowledge. All I can give are the voices. The broken, babbling, laughing voices. | „ |

Joy also known as SCP-999 is a safe-class anomaly under the containment of the SCP Foundation.
What Makes It Pure Good?[]
- Unlike the other SCPs, who are either hostile, murderous, bloodthirsty, mindless, heartless, arrogant, and irredeemable, SCP-999 enhabits none of these qualities and is instead a good character. It is also worth noting that, despite it's family relationship with SCP-682, it's behavior is completely unaffected and it also genuinely cares about it's half-brother.
- It calms people down and it also enlightens despressed people's moods.
- SCP-999 uses its powers on depressed people before anyone else.
- It once took a bullet to save a person's life, demonstrating its selflessness.
- It loves all animals, specially humans.
- When SCP-001 (when day breaks) occurred it helps calmed the survivors down.
- One of the survivors was a mother who was separated from her child during the chaos, while the Foundation refused to let her go back out there because it was too dangerous and he was considered lost, SCP-999 understood everything going on and snuck out at night to search for the boy and brought the boy back to his mother safe and sound, therefore proving it has moral agency and isn't mindless.
- SCP-999 always finds the best in people and monsters alike, even in lost causes such as SCP-682.
- Despite being created by the Scarlet King to help him cause suffering and strife, SCP-999 shows that he knows right from wrong and tries to correct The King’s mistakes. He is even stated to be the last hope against the King.
