What Makes Him Pure Good?[]

  • Despite being socially isolated and with a bad reputation, he remains all-loving and constantly ready to help everyone in need.
  • While he can come across as slightly mischievous, he's always kind and well-meaning, with no ill will by any means; furthermore, by the time of the movie, as things get serious, his jokes are pretty much forgotten.
  • He has always been caring and providing for his little sister Kaede since his parents were unable to do it and to deal with their daugher's Puberty Syndrome.
  • He helped Mai with her Puberty Syndrome, even losing sleep, to restore her existence in the world and preventing her from becoming an unperson.
  • He helped Tomoe during the time loop she created to gain his feelings; since he's romantically involved only with Mai, he admits it, yet nonetheless comforts the girl and yet that he’ll always be there for her as a friend, no matter what.
  • He also saves Tomoe’s reputation by fighting Yosuke, a jealous jerk who was spreading rumours about Tomoe being promiscuous, since the girl did not reciprocate his feelings.
  • He also solved the Puberty Syndrome cases of his best female friend Rio Futaba, and also
  • In the movie, since he was saved by Mai, who heard about what would have happened, and sacrificed her life to save both his life - from the fatal accident - and Shoko's - as she was about to die due to a terminal illness, eventually having Mai's heart transplanted into her - Sakuta goes back in time to prevent Mai from sacrificing herself.
  • Since he saves Mai but Shoko no longer has a heart donor and would die, Sakuta agrees along with Mai to travel to a timeline where Shoko is healthy, but, on the other hand, they likely would sacrifice their memories of each other. They promise to fall in love again, however, and recognize each other along with Shoko as well, who is now a finally healthy and cheerful child playing on the beach with her parents.
