Sammy Gutierrez is a major character in the DreamWorks and Netflix TV series, Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous and its sequel series Jurassic World: Chaos Theory.
She is a camper filled with enthusiasm and one of the six campers at Camp Cretaceous who was invited there. Now stranded alongside the other five campers, she is now trying to get back home from Isla Nublar though they face many dangers along the way. It is also revealed that Sammy is a spy working for an organization called Mantah Corp, though she turns against them on their island. She is the best friend (later girlfriend) of Yasmina Fadoula.
She is voiced by Raini Rodriguez.
What Makes Her Pure Good?[]
In General:
- Even before the story, she helped her family and kindly took care of their cows.
- She helps and cares for the island's dinosaurs and opposes any harm to them.
Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous:
- Encourages Yaz to talk to her friends and get out of her comfort zone, which makes them friends.
- When Cash tries to threaten her family, she decides to spy for "Menta Corp", only to be left alone, at her own risk.
- She helps save Darius and Brooklyn from drowning in a muddy pit, using a timid Sinoceratops.
- She does act like a fool when Brooklyn suspects her of stealing the phone and trying to hide the footage, but later refutes this.
- It can also be said that she admitted out loud to being a spy, even though she knew how her friends would feel.
- She helps the gang dim the lights so as not to attract pteranodons.
- She reacts in shock when Ben falls and is presumed dead.
- She helps the group escape the island.
- She helps the group resist Mitch and Tiff.
- She protects the camp from the Scorpios rex, also being seriously injured while helping him.
- She reacts in anger when she hears about Cash's actions against the dinosaurs and almost confronts him, but listens to her friends and does not risk facing him.
- She helps save Dr. May Turner from Cash and his raptors.
- She helps Dr. May save the dying Pierce.
- She helps save Cash and Daniel's hybrids, to atone for her actions of spying on their behalf.
- When Daniel treats her like a loose link, she kicks him out of the way to save the dinosaurs from him.
Jurassic World: Chaos Theory:
- At one point, she and her family stole "Bumpy" from Sammy's house.
- She worries about Yaz, since they became friends and calls to ask how she is.
- She reacts in shock to Brooklyn's "death" and looks for clues to the mystery of her whereabouts.
- Helps Ben and Darius escape when the trainer's Atrociraptors attack them.
- Despite his attitude towards her, she is shocked when she finds Carl killed by the Atrociraptors.
- She rushes to save her friend Yaz from the trainer.
- She helps Yaz escape when two rangers shoot at their vehicle and knock it into the water.
- She apologizes for being angry with Zayna during the trip.
- She begs Brooklyn not to join Soyona and is upset when this happens.
- She helps an injured Centrosaurus who was on a plane when it couldn't breathe and wakes it up.
- When the latter starts to go berserk and causes the plane to crash, she successfully shoots a tranquilizer dart at him.
- When "Slick" disappears, Sammy and the gang head out to find him and rescue him from the Pyroraptor and the Atrociraptors.
- Despite suspecting Brooklynn, she agrees to give him a phone call to ask how he is, though she is offended by Brooklyn's lack of respect for the gang due to her secret activities.
- She and Kenji warn the ski resort about the Pyroraptor in time.
- She and Kenji fight the Pyroraptor to keep it from devouring people and fall in an avalanche as a result.
- Despite wanting to go home, they decide to stay after realizing that "Bumpy" has been kidnapped by Biosyn and decide to head to Biosyn Valley.
