This article pertains to a Pure Good with more than one version who is Pure Good! |
Sans is the deuteragonist of Flowey is Not a Good Life Coach.
Like his mainstream counterpart, he is the older brother of Papyrus and a nihilistic skeleton who works at a sentry post in Snowdin. Disregarding this, he is a genuinely well meaning person who looks after those he cares about.
What Makes Him Pure Good?[]
- While he does still make puns, most of them are to try and boost Papyrus' mood rather than to annoy him.
- Despite his apathy, he cares for his friends and Papyrus. He is also quite protective of them when push comes to shove.
- When he noticed Papyrus’ mood being uncharacteristically bitter, he confronted him over it and tried to discover what was wrong. After his brother abruptly lashed out at him, Sans, despite being visibly hurt by his words, didn't get mad.
- He accepted Papyrus' apology for yelling at him earlier and later comforted him after he accidentally injured Undyne in a sparring session.
- While he does have a few moments of lashing out at Papyrus, most of these are in response to his brother treating him poorly. Even then he ultimately gets over this and forgives Papyrus for his wrongdoings.
- Even when Papyrus accidentally caused him to get arrested, since he was afraid of what Flowey would do if anyone learned the truth, he never held it against him and still wanted to find out what was wrong with him.
- After finally realizing of what's been happening to his brother, he immediately rushes in to save him.
- He shuts down Flowey's "training sessions" with Papyrus and calls out his flimsy lies and explanations.
- While he did kill Flowey, this was justified since he was not only perpetually and remorselessly abusing his brother, but was also harming other monsters who were uninvolved.
- He burned what was left of Flowey just so his brother wouldn't be traumatized at the mere sight of his remains.
- He stands out from the low admirable standard by ending Flowey once and for all, saving Papyrus and all monsters alike.
