What Makes Him Pure Good?[]
- He is shown to be loyal to his owners, just like his parents.
- While he did make a mess in his home, he only did it by accident.
- While he did try to steal Reggie's can, he was manipulated by Buster to do so.
- This leads Reggie to pursue Scamp, but to end up in the dog pound. Thus Scamp's actions lead to Reggie's imprisonment, which other dogs show gratitude to Scamp for.
- He begins to feel remorse for his escape, seeing how his family misses him.
- Seeing Buster wants him to rob HIS OWN FAMILY, Scamp tries to persuade Buster not to force him to.
- Even if he still robs his family, he later explains the situation to his father.
- He feels remorse for accidentally harming Angel's feelings and tries to apologize.
- After being caught by the Dogcatcher, he says Angel to escape.
- When his father fights Reggie, Scamp tries to help.
- He apologizes to his father for his behavior.
- He imprisons Buster, which saves the dogs in the pound.
- His actions lead to other dogs (including Angel) to decide that being a pet dog is better.
Trivia[]
- Scamp shares some similarities with Melody and Kiara - all of them are the main protagonist of their respective sequels and all of them are children of the protagonist and deuteragonist from their respective original movie (Lady and Tramp from Lady and the Tramp in Scamp's case, Ariel and Eric from The Little Mermaid in Melody's case, and Simba and Nala from The Lion King in Kiara's case). All of them originally had a strained relationship with one of their parents (Tramp, Simba, and Ariel). Each have an opposite sex love interest (Angel, Alex, and Kovu). All of them run away from home following an argument with said parent (Scamp fled home after arguing with Tramp over wanting to be a wild dog whilst Melody fled home after arguing with Ariel over being banned from going near the sea whilst Kiara fled home after arguing with Simba over him banishing Kovu and banning her from leaving Pride Rock alone). However, each one is different: Kiara (in The Lion Guard) and Scamp have siblings while Melody does not have siblings; Kiara and Scamp are animals (lion and dog, respectively) while Melody is a human (or a mermaid, but not an animal); and Melody and Kiara are females while Scamp is a male. Also, Melody and Kiara's inspirations come from their respective parents: Ariel in Melody's case (Kiara was also the inspiration for Melody), Simba and Nala in Kiara's case (although Kiara was also based on Juliet).
- Another similarity is all three of these characters are Pure Good themselves and have at least one of their parents to be Pure Good as well. The only difference that Scamp and Kiara have only one Pure Good parent (Lady is Scamp's mother, while Simba is Kiara's father), the other being Near Pure Good, while Melody's parents are BOTH Pure Good.
