Shizuka Minamoto (aka Sue in the English versions), is one of the main characters in the Doraemon series as well as being the only main female character. In the future after marrying Nobita, she is also known as Shizuka Nobi or Mrs. Nobi.
What Makes Her Pure Good?[]
- She cares for weaker people, neglected dolls, and abused animals.
- She helps those who are in need, including Nobita.
- She helps Nobita with his homework sometimes. The only times that she refuses to help him is because she felt that Nobita would just copy her answers, knowing that it could lead to failure if he goes down this path. Even when given the chance, she refuses to copy off of someone else's homework, even Dekisugi's.
- She doesn't like it when people were mean to others, whether it be human or animal.
- Whenever she asks Doraemon for a gadget, it was only intended to help others in need or in rare cases, put a stop to Gian and Suneo's bullying. In fact, she never abuses Doraemon's gadgets for selfish gain.
- Alongside Doraemon and Dekisugi, she does not judge Nobita based on his flaws and poor grades and she was very accepting towards him. Instead, she urges/helps him to try to do better.
- She takes her priorities (eg doing homework, doing housework her mother has her do, piano lessons, etc.) and commitments very seriously and she never tries to find ways to pass her responsibilities on to someone else so she can do what she pleases unlike Nobita, Gian, or Suneo.
- She only attacked Nobita out of self-defense usually as a response of invading her privacy (such as making a sudden appearance while she's bathing, looking at her underwear, etc.) or insult even if Nobita has no intention if doing so.
- She tenders a doll of an old man who was actually a God Robot that grants wishes to those who prove their kindness to him. When she saw that Gian and Suneo accidentally wished each other into pigs due to an argument over the wishes, she uses her last wish to make them human again.
- She was worried that Nobita was going to do something stupid and she rushes to stop him from doing so, despite that he lifted her skirt recently (he only did it just to get her to leave him alone). Although, the Bug Off Nobita used on himself almost drove her away, she was not willing to let Nobita suffer so she resists the aura in effort to help him and she called him out on feeling hopeless in life and letting the teacher's scolding get to him.
- She was aware that Nobita genuinely cares about her and appreciates his efforts to look after her despite messing up. Because of this, she decides to marry him.
- She chooses to bake cookies for Nobita as gratitude for helping her earlier in her own natural way instead of being under the influence of one of Doraemon's gadgets.
- In the long comics, she helped the main casts to defeat various villains.
- Unlike most of the main cast, she is the only one who has no corrupting qualities.
