~ Siegfried.
Siegfried Schtauffen is the main protagonist of the Soulcalibur video game series. He is a tragic knight who seeks repentance for his sins after accidentally killing his father in Soul Edge. It is said that Nightmare was created by evil laying within Siegfried and the sins he committed. So the only way to really bring peace to the world was to kill Nightmare once and for all. It is shown in the games that Siegfried is very skilled with his big and heavy greatsword dubbed Requiem, but he also becomes a host for Soul Calibur later on. He is capable of twirling his sword around in a number of various tactical maneuvers and stances.
He is voiced by Crispin Freeman in Soulcalibur III, Roger Craig Smith in Soulcalibur Legends to Soulcalibur V; and by Kirk Thornton in Soulcalibur VI. In the Japanese dub, he is voiced by Nobuyuki Hiyama, who also voiced Link.
What Makes Him Pure Good?[]
After being freed from Soul Edge's control by Kilik and Chai Xianghua as well as being healed by Sophitia Alexandra, Siegfried vowed that he must right his wrongs and repent for his sins by destroying the source of his and many of the worlds problems: Soul Edge. He vowed he would do anything, even sacrifice his own life if he had to in order to stop Nightmare and Soul Edge's thirst for power.
He formed an alliance with Hildegard von Krone and her army to stop Nightmare from producing a third Evil Seed.
By killing Nightmare and destroying Soul Edge, Siegfried not only repented for his past sins, but also averted the Evil Seed from suceeding. In doing so, Siegfried saved virtually everyone across the planet.
After his triumph, he reformed his old highwaymen group the Schwarzwind Knight to protect innocent individuals rather than plunder from them.
In the Alternate Timeline, he uses his willpower to locate several of Nightmare's henchmen and save numerous hostages from having their souls harvested by Soul Edge's power.
