Simba is the main protagonist of the 2019 remake The Lion King.
He is voiced by JD McCrary as a cub and Donald Glover as a young adult.
What Makes Him Pure Good?[]
While he started as cocky and jerkish when as a cub, he grows from it later in the film.
He felt guilty for disobeying his father about going to the Elephant Graveyard.
Even though it wasn't his fault, he felt ashamed over his father's death and went into self-imposed exile when Scar framed him for it and coldly told him to leave.
He easily adapts to the jungle life and easily befriends everyone in there.
Despite that everyone began to feel reluctant to be with him due to being a lion, that doesn't let that get to him.
He defends Pumbaa from being eaten by Nala.
Although he refuses to return to face Scar at first, he musters up the courage to return anyway when Mufasa encourages him that he is the rightful king.
He stops Scar from attacking Sarabi when she refuses to side with him.
While he did threaten to tear Scar apart, he ultimately chose not to and decided to spare him by exiling him instead making this just a Heating-Up Period.
Unlike the original film where he chokes Scar when he refuses to admit to his murder of Mufassa, here he simply bites his mane to pull himself back up while rightfully accusing Scar of being the killer, never resorting to brutal methods like choking.
His shocked expression after believing he killed Scar in self-defense shows he had no desire to resort to lethality during their battle.
He overthrows Scar and becomes king of the Pride Lands, restoring it back to normal in the process.
