Sonic the Hedgehog, often referred to as simply Sonic, is one of the two main protagonists (alongside Mario) of the 2006 flash animation series Super Mario Bros. Z., originally created by Mark Haynes/Alvin Earthworm.
He is a vengeful hedgehog seeking revenge on Turbo Mecha Sonic, who killed Sonic's friends back in Mobius. Sonic, alongside Shadow, seeks to recover the Chaos Emeralds from the Mushroom Kingdom where he warps them into for preventing Mecha Sonic to collect them in Mobius, and defeat the killer robot for good.
Much like his original counterpart, his voice clips are provided by Ryan Drummond, Jason Griffith and Sean Schemmel.
What Makes Him Pure Good?[]
- Unlike most iterations of the blue blur, this version of Sonic lacks any of the corrupting qualities they have.
- Prior to the events, he constantly protected his hometown Mobius and his friends from the power hungry Dr. Eggman who aims to enslave Mobius residents.
- He fought Turbo Mecha Sonic and tried to save his friends and recover the Chaos Emeralds from him. Although he was defeated, he tried his best against the Mecha.
- He and Shadow teleported themselves to the Mushroom Kingdom to chase Turbo Mecha Sonic and prevent him collecting the emeralds.
- Alongside Shadow, he helps Mario defeat Bowser by crashing their capsule into the Metal Bowser after teleportation, causing him to lose his metal powers and enabling Mario to defeat him.
- Alongside Shadow, defeats Kamek when the latter takes Peach hostage to make Mario surrender, saving her in the process.
- He is pleased to meet Mario and Peach, praises their kingdom and calls for help kindly to defeat Turbo Mecha Sonic.
- Unlike Shadow who often bursts into rage, Sonic constantly acts kindly to Mario and his crew, and warns Shadow to calm him down.
- Alongside his teammates, he runs for Yoshi when he is about to be killed by Mecha Sonic, saving him.
- While he hides about Mecha Sonic's existence to Mario, he later feels remorse for it and tells the Mecha's story despite Shadow's insistence to not to tell.
- When Shadow bursts into rage after being beaten by Koopa Bros, Sonic stops him to calm him down and convinces him to work together.
- Fights Koopa Bros to recover the Chaos Emerald back they stole.
- Saves Luigi from the Yellow Koopa who almost uses the super attack against him.
- Protects Princess Peach when Shadow yells at her.
- When they are surrounded by Yoshi Tribe, Sonic suggests trying communicate with the tribe at first, and expresses shock when Shadow provokes them into fight.
- Fights Yoshi Tribe to protect his teammates and tries to rescue Mario from the Thunderfoot.
- Alongside his teammates, he frees Yoshis enslaved by Axem Rangers used for digging up the island for emeralds.
- Alongside his teammates, he fights Axem Rangers X and Koopa Bros to recover the stolen Emeralds and protect his teammates.
- Tries to stop Axem Red from destroying the Yoshi Island, and calms Shadow down when the latter yells at the Yoshis.
- Alongside his teammates, he fights Semi-Super Mecha Sonic to recover the stolen Emeralds.
- Even after his teammates are defeated, he still tries to defeat Mecha Sonic bravely.
- He assists Mario, using the Super Star, recover the emeralds from Mecha Sonic and enable Shadow to use the Chaos Control for evacuating and saving Yoshi Tribe and teammates.
- Tries to defeat Mecha Sonic forever with Super Star, but fails for losing his power.
- Thanks to Shadow for saving people, considering him a "buddy" even the latter objects it.
- Protects Goombella and Kolorado from Turbo Mecha Sonic, alongside Mario.
- Sincerely accepts to help Mario rescuing Princess Peach and defeating Bowser.
- Although he lost his hometown and all of his friends, he never filled himself with hatred and wrath unlike Shadow and stayed rational instead. When Shadow objects helping Mario, Sonic makes a speech about both Shadow's and his own situation, thus calming Shadow even though he couldn't make him help Mario. Despite Shadow's wraths and threats, Sonic never steps back during his speech.
- Alongside Mario, he saves Yoshi and Luigi from Koopatrol army.
- Plays an essential role during the fight with Koopatrol army, assisting Mario on the first hand with using the Fire Flower.
- Tries to defeat Basilisx when the latter attacks Mario.
