What Makes Him Pure Good?[]
- Saved two foals from a cougar, without killing the cougar and letting it go.
- On the night he was captured, he urged his mother and the herd to leave so they won't be captured.
- Saved his herd from wranglers while freeing some of their horses, despite being captured.
- Never killed a single American despite their inhumane treatment of him.
- Freed US army horses from an army base along with Little Creek, a Lakota tribesman.
- While he was initially hostile to the Lakota tribe, he came to see that not all humans were evil while living with the Lakota, and even became quite gentle to the Lakota children.
- Plus, another reason why he was hostile to humans was he only wanted to be free, and he thought he was going to be controlled again in a brutal way.
- Fell in love with Rain, Creek's mare.
- Tried to help the Lakota when American soldiers attacked the village.
- Rescued Rain and stayed with her after she was shot.
- Saved his homeland from American colonization by destroying the Northern Pacific Railway, freeing more horses in the process.
- Briefly allowed Creek to ride him in order to escape from the Colonel, freeing more horses in the ensuing chase, and even risked everything when he jumped the Grand Canyon in order to escape.
- Allowed Rain to join his herd and become his mate.
