SpongeBob SquarePants is the main protagonist of the 2013 YouTube Poop Mr. Krabs' Unquenchable Blood Lust and its 2023 remaster.
He is an anthropomorphic sponge who helped Mr. Krabs in the poisoning of the con-artist disguised as a health inspector. After feeling massive remorse for doing so, it became the catalyst for his redemption, and he turned against his boss. He then worked to stop Mr. Krabs's ensuing killing spree, ultimately sacrificing his own life to end it.
He was voiced by Tom Kenny via spliced audio.
What Makes Him Pure Good?[]
In General[]
- Despite coming from a YTP, he is taken seriously in-story. He also lacks any nasty qualities and is never incompetent, which stands out compared to most heroes in YTPs, further proving this.
- While his last words are vengeful, this is justified due to the many people Mr. Krabs killed, not to mention the deaths of the con artist, Squidward, and Patrick greatly traumatized SpongeBob.
Mr. Krabs' Unquenchable Blood Lust[]
- When he and Mr. Krabs were attempted to hide the body of the con artist who posed as a health inspector, he felt genuine remorse for poisoning him, to the point of hesitating to bury him and breaking down in tears.
- While he is initially seen smiling when they first poison the health inspector, implying he took sadism in the act, this is instantly subverted by the next scene as he is shown to be completely mortified and ridden with guilt over having killed him. It is also possible he did not know how strong the poison was and only laughed because he thought the "inspector" would be mildly sick.
- He and Squidward called the police on Mr. Krabs and arrested him after he had gone completely insane.
- After finding out that Squidward was killed by Mr. Krabs, he and Patrick decide to flee Bikini Bottom due to the city no longer being safe.
- After Mr. Krabs broke the power of his house, he hid a bomb in his pants and sacrificed his life by blowing himself and Krabs up, ending his rampage.
Trivia[]
- At the end of the original video, it shows that Patrick was telling SpongeBob the entire story, and SpongeBob then says "f*ck you Patrick". Thus, as the real version of SpongeBob in the YTP is a jerk who only appears in a cutaway gag and has no notable good deeds, only the version from Patrick's story's version counts.
- He is currently the only version of SpongeBob to be Pure Good, as well as the first fanon Pure Good from SpongeBob SquarePants besides The Bikini Bottom Horror.
- SpongeBob is one of the few characters to have both a Pure Good and a Pure Evil version (the one from The Bikini Bottom Horror), ironically both coming from fan works rather than the original series.
- Since Mr. Krabs got approved as Silly PE, This version of Spongebob seems to be the PG counterpart to him.
