“ | A Ravager never flies solo. | „ |
~ T'Challa's most famous quote. |
Prince T'Challa, also known as Star-Lord, is the titular protagonist of the second episode of What If...?.
He is a variant of T'Challa who was abducted by the Ravagers at a young age and enlisted into their ranks. He would teach the Ravagers a new way of life, one that promotes the wellbeing of the galaxy.
Like the original version, he is voiced by the late Chadwick Boseman.
What Makes Him Pure Good?[]
- When he became a Ravager, he convinced the Ravagers to change their ways and becomes something more than just space pirates, instead stealing from the rich in order to give to the poor.
- He saved several people and planets across the galaxy as a Ravager, earning him the nickname "Star-Lord" and causing him to be revered for his benevolence.
- He saved the Kylosians from the Kree Army in their invasion on Kylos. Among the people saved by T'Challa's actions were Drax's wife and daughter, who were killed by Ronan in the main timeline.
- Upon meeting Thanos and hearing of his plans to eliminate half of all life in the universe, he chose to reason with him instead of fighting. He successfully convinced Thanos of an alternative method of reallocating the universe's resources, inspiring him to join the Ravagers as well. T'Challa's actions would spare countless planets and his universe of Thanos' genocidal conquest and search for the Infinity Stones.
- When Korath encounters him and bows in his presence, T'Challa insists it isn't necessary and remarks that he isn't an actual Lord, impressing Korath with his humility.
- He only fights Korath when he asks for it, even praising him for his skills while fighting, and upon knocking him out, he admits he feels bad for Korath.
- He decides to induct Korath into the Ravagers, redeeming him in the process.
- He steals the Orb, preventing Ronan from getting his hands on it. He then decides to use the Orb to jump-start the Krylorian's dying star, saving their planet and their solar system from extinction.
- He tries to convince Nebula to open up to Thanos and reconnect with him now that he redeemed himself.
- Though he angrily confronted Yondu and slammed him into a wall over his deception, his anger was completely justified, since Yondu had lied to him about the fate of Wakanda.
- He thanks Carina for helping him escape The Collector.
- He is disgusted by the Collector's mass array of living specimens, and fights the Collector in order to help free all of them from his captivity.
- He steals the Embers of Genesis from The Collector, which would be used as a food source to feed billions of people on millions of planets.
- He forgives Yondu for having abducted and lied to him, accepting him and the Ravagers as his family.
- He reunites with his family in Wakanda, apologizing to his father for taking so long to return home.
- He saves Peter Quill from being used as a battery by Ego.
- He fights alongside the rest of the Guardians of the Multiverse against Ultron, who all manage to successfully defeat him, saving the Multiverse from destruction.
- He rejects Killmonger's offer to use the Infinity Stones for themselves and attempts to reason with Killmonger to hand over the Infinity Stones, referring him as his cousin even though they were from different realities.
- Alongside Peter Quill, T'Challa presumably defeats Ego and prevents him from enacting his Expansion plan.
- Unlike Peter Quill from the Sacred Timeline, T'Challa lacks his corrupting qualities such as arrogance, greed and pride, instead choosing to be a humble, benevolent space pirate who helps people across the galaxy.
Trivia[]
