“ | Doing the right thing doesn’t mean the right thing happens back to you. But you give yourself a better chance when you don’t go through life alone. When you find someone who’s earned your trust. I’ve been lucky enough to find friends like that. I hope one day, maybe you’ll have someone you can trust too. | „ |
~ Suitcase |
Suitcase is one of the deuteragonists of the 2011 web series, Inanimate Insanity, serving as one of the two main protagonists of its second season, Inanimate Insanity II.
She is voiced by Samuel Thornbury.
What Makes Her Pure Good?[]
- She is overall a nice character who doesn't ever intentionally act jerkish towards anyone, while nearly every other contestant has shown to have corrupting factors, such as genuine betrayal, or jerkish and selfish moments.
- Suitcase is the most admirable character in the series.
- She and Knife stopped Steve Cobs from committing genocide by getting Toilet to unplug the Me.
- She was the one to come up with the plan to get everyone out of the purgatory inside of MePhone4.
- She killed Cobs, making her the winner of Inanimate Insanity II and stopping him from causing any more harm to her and the others.
- While she betrayed Nickel and Baseball by getting them eliminated with her one vote and bringing Knife with her to the finale respectively, they were understandable, as she did the former to stand up for herself, and she did the latter because she felt like Knife's talk with her on the dock gave her strength.
- Despite suffering through hallucinations, she never uses this disability as an excuse, and kept it a secret while still being supportive. And even after being forced to come out about her anxieties, she still doesn't use this as an excuse, while also being able to let people like Knife help her.
- While she's one of the only two characters to kill someone permanently (Cobs being the other), her only victim was Cobs, who deserved it. Despite the death being slightly brutal, it wasn't a slow death either, thus making her not lethal.
- She decided that MePhone4 quitting Inanimate Insanity was for the best of everyone, since it was a show that has hurt so many emotionally and separated many friendships.
- She decided to get the contestants to build a safer community where they can truly be united.
- While her and Knife getting Toilet to unplug the Me technically counts as genocide, this is not a prevention for various reasons.
- By then, only Apple, Marshmallow, Microphone, Taco, and Paper were alive, meaning that she and Knife only killed six people (including each other).
- This was out of genuinely good intentions, as it was the only way to save the Shimmers.
- She got everyone out of the purgatory inside of MePhone4, thus being the reason why MePhone4 brought back everyone to the real world.
- She subverts her corrupting factor of thinking everybody was fake by deciding that even if they were fake, everything felt real, so she brought back everyone and came up with a plan to get them all out of purgatory.
- While her eating a piece of popcorn from Cobs' dead body may seem like cannibalism, this isn't played for horror and is a mere heating-up period otherwise, plus given how Cobs tried to kill her alongside all her other friends, and even killing MePad in an attempt to kill all of them alongside MePhone, to add on to the fact, MePhone is the only person who acted disturbed, and considering everything Cobs has put them through, it's for comical relief.
Trivia[]
- She and MePad are the only Object Show characters to be approved as Pure Good.
- Interestingly, in flashbacks, MePhone4's concept of Suitcase reads "backstabber?", implying in-canon, Suitcase was somewhat intended to be a traitor, which likely would've prevented her from being Pure Good. However, the only time Suitcase does anything like this in the show is voting Nickel out, which she did for good reasons.
