“ | The long-lasting peace has dimmed the terror of Godzilla. But I vividly remember as if it were today. Fifty years ago. The sky was a bloody red... buildings and railroads trampled... and a huge, dark mass... slowly advancing through the flames. Its face looked like a devil, furious with hate. I ran and ran among the crowd helplessly seeking refuge. When I realised it, I was separated from my parents. I never saw them again. Not a single day goes by where I don't remember the wretched cries of the dying. | „ |
~ Tachibana about how he tragically lost his parents during original Godzilla's rampage and why he doesn't rule out the existence of another, let alone Guardian Monsters which Yuri told him. |
Taizo Tachibana is the tritagonist of the 2001 Tokusatsu film Godzilla, Mothra, King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack. He is the admiral of the JSDF and the father of Yuri Tachibana.
He is portrayed Ryudo Uzak.
His Good Ranking[]
What Makes Him Pure Good?[]
- He's shown to be a good father to Yuri and even though he admitted to her that he disliked the programs the TV Station she worked for made (ie. the fake low budget documentaries), he never judged her for working with them, even asking her how things went.
- While he did order some of his men to arrest his daughter later in the movie, it was mainly to protect her as she was traveling to the place where Godzilla was going to attack.
- Assisted Mothra and King Ghidorah (alongside his colleagues) in fighting against Godzilla.
- Navigated the Satsuma inside Godzilla (despite how risky it was) and fired a D-03 Missile, opening up the gap wound on his neck that he received from King Ghidorah aka. Yamata no Orochi, causing him to destroy himself when he fired his atomic breath. By doing this, he prevented him from destroying Japan.
- Stopped Yuri from coming too close to him out of fear that he might be infected with radiation.
- In response to Yuri thanking him, he responded by saying he wasn’t able to do it alone and that he also had help from his colleagues and the Guardian Monsters, the latter three whom he then saluted out of respect. This was notable considering he initially took information pertaining Guardian Monsters from his daughter with grain of salt.
- Unlike the Guardian Monsters who while willing to work with humanity and protect them were mainly concerned with protecting the land itself rather than the people, Taizo was the opposite, with his goal being to protect the people.
- Easily passes the standard by giving the final blow to Godzilla and causing him to blow up.
- Additionally, due to the film ignoring all the sequels after the original, he doesn’t have to be compared to the protagonists of those universes.
