Tenderheart Bear is the main protagonist of the Care Bears franchise. He is the leader, and sometimes the de facto leader of the Care Bears.
He was voiced by Rick Jones in the original two TV specials, the late Billie Mae Richards in DIC Version who also voiced Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Jim Henshaw in The Care Bears Family, Andrew Sabiston in the direct-to-DVD movies, Matt Hill in Care Bears: Adventures in Care-a-Lot, David Lodge in Care Bears: Welcome to Care-a-Lot, and Nick Shakoour in Care Bears: Unlock the Magic.
What Makes Him Pure Good?[]
- Throughout the franchises, he lead the Care Bears in spreading care around the world.
- He and the others protected Care-a-Lot from various threats multiple times.
- He defeated several villains such as Professor Coldheart and No Heart who planned to rule the world and destroy Care-a-Lot.
- He rescued and restored/or redeemed several children who were the minions of Professor Coldheart or were corrupted by the selfishness of him.
- He often looks after his friends' safety and has saved them multiple times when they were in danger.
- He lacks corrupting factors, unlike some others as he is usually more mature, selfless, and heroic.
- He acts as a father figure to the Care Bears, including Wonderheart.
- In The Care Bears Movie, he tries to stop Nicholas from falling under the Evil Spirit's spell
- He helped defeat The Spirit by using the Care Bear Stare and redeemed Nicholas when he was under the influence.
- He helped Nicholas close the book and locking it with a key so The Spirit doesn't attack them again, foiling the Spirit's plans.
- In Care Bears Movie II: A New Generation, he tried to rescue Cristy who was captured by Dark Heart.
- He contributed in stopping and redeeming Dark Heart.
- He helped Dark Heart in restoring Christy by chanting "we care/I care".
- He and Lotsa Heart Elephant protect Alice from the Wizard of Wonderland's henchman to help her pass her princess test.
- He helped rebuild Care-a-Lot when it got destroyed due to the other bears' selfish wishes.
