Well boys, this is it. You can protest all you want, but I'm telling you, I'm a dead man. This wound won't heal itself. So thank you. Thank you for all you've done while in my service. You've served Freeside well. Heck, you even ended up serving the Strip well. Who would've thought? Thanks again boys, and keep the music of man alive.
~ The King's last words

The King is one of the overarching protagonists of the Fallout: New Vegas mod DUST Survival Simulator. Much like his canon counterpart, he is the leader of the Kings and benevolent de-facto leader of Freeside. Following The Fall in 2286, where the toxic cloud of the Sierra Madre swept across the Mojave, The King led his gang onto the streets of Freeside to save as many lives as possible.

What Makes Him Pure Good?[]

  • While the canon version of The King does have some minor corrupting traits, the version of the King in this mod is shown to lack them.
  • He formed The Kings to protect the people of Freeside, using them as a makeshift police force to ensure the community's safety.
  • When the NCR's experimental Cloud at the Lucky 38 is released onto the Strip and Freeside, The King sends his gang to help as many people as possible.
  • When the NCR starts to lock down the Strip and Freeside, leaving the trapped civilians to die, The King joins forces with the Garret twins and blows the Strip's gate open, allowing the trapped civilians to escape.
  • The King, his gang and the Garrets provide cover fire for the fleeing civilians, ensuring as many of them escape alive as possible.
  • Despite being mortally wounded in the escape, The King still leads a group of survivors to Boulder City, hoping to find safety there.
  • Knowing that he's about to die, The King records a message for the survivors, thanking them for their service and their heroism, asking them to "keep the music of the man alive".
  • While the world of Fallout: Dust is incredibly bleak, with very few good people remaining and most having resorted to raiding or cannibalism, The King easily stands out as the most moral and selfless character in the mod.

Trivia[]

  • He is currently the only fanon Fallout Pure Good to be based off of a canon character.
