Thoma, labeled as the Protector from Afar, is a supporting character in the 2020 action fantasy role-playing video game Genshin Impact. He is one of the two protagonists of the second chapter of the Archon Quests (alongside Yae Miko), with him serving as the deuteragonist of the prologue, first and second acts, along with being a major protagonist of the third act.

What Makes Him Pure Good?

• During his stay in Inazuma, he would take it upon himself to feed stray cats and dogs that he would find.
• In spite of being an obvious outsider from the nation, he never expressed any sort of dissatisfaction or doubt towards the people of Inazuma.
• A decade prior to the Traveler's arrival in Inazuma, when the Kamisato clan was getting progressively weaker and weaker following the death of Kamisato Kayo and her husband, Thoma refused to abandon the clan even when he was actively asked to leave. An event that led to him receiving a Pyro Vision.
• Once the Traveler reached the docks at Ritou, Thoma immediately processed their application using the Outlander Affairs Agency in order to negotiate with the customs officer and ensure a reasonable price in the process before bringing the Traveler to Kurisu, the head of the International Trade Association to be able to process the incoming taxation using Crystal Marrow as opposed to Mora.
• Helping Werner realize that Keijirou and his gang were using him all along in order to solicit Crystal Marrow from the merchants to keep all to themselves before effectively foiling the gang's schemes.
• Before leaving, he presented the Traveler with an invitation to Komore Teahouse, and later praised their determination after they arrived at said location, even comparing it to that of Kazuha's late friend.
• Bringing the Traveler to the Kamisato Estate to meet Ayaka.
• Planning on trying to establish contact with Kujou Sara, even when he knew the chances of being able to do so were unlikely.
• After being captured and brought to the Vision Hunt Ceremony thanks to his connections to the Traveler, he saved the latter from Raiden Shogun's divine punishment with the Musou no Hitotachi by distracting her with a spear, causing her to miss, which also bought the two enough time to escape.
  • He also hold no ill will against the Raiden Shogun for trying to take his vision.
• Instructing the Traveler to venture to Tatarasuna in order to locate the general of the Watatsumi Army, Gorou, and gather more information about the Shogunate's plan.
• Rehabilitating one of the Ninken who lost its owner and taking care of it in the meantime.
• Giving sweaters to the stray cats and dogs roaming the Kamisato estate.
• Helping to ensure the goods meant to be shipped to Yasutake were safely delivered to their location.
