Ultraman (ウルトラマン Urutoraman), also known as the Original Ultraman (初代ウルトラマン Shodai Urutoraman) is the titular protagonist of the Ultra franchise, serving as a major protagonist within the main M78 universe continuity.

What Makes Him Pure Good[]
In General[]
- Due to him being the first known Ultra to ever visit and defend Earth, he inspired tons of other Ultras to do the same after him, especially Mebius in particular whom he and the other Ultra brothers briefly mentored during his time on Earth.
- He stands out despite the franchise's high admirable standards since he basically sets it due to being the very first Ultra to ever protect the Earth that started the tradition of many other Ultramen protecting the Earth for many generations and while New Generation Ultras crossed over to the M78 universe, Ultraman lacks any certain abilities or extra forms that are powerful compared to them since he's ironically just an average Ultraman.

Furthermore, their initial plan to have Taro lure Alien Temperor away failed since the evil alien didn’t fall for it, meaning Taro had to defeat it on his own.

While this may seem cruel, it was out desperation to get the Ultra key as soon as possible as the Land of Light was coming in at a very fast rate by that point, meaning time wasn’t on their side. Despite this though, he did show sympathy as he understood that he loved his “brother”, even if this didn’t stop him and the other Ultra brothers from attempting to kill “Astra” with their beam attacks.
- Additionally, when him, Jack, and Ace accidentally shot Leo instead of Astra due, he immediately felt remorse for it

- When Mebius pleaded for them to not transform out of fear of them dying, him and the other three replied by reminding him the importance of being an Ultraman and how it meant never giving up no matter what.

Trivia[]
- He is the very first Ultraman from the Showa generation to be Pure Good, with Zoffy coming second, Ultraman Ace being the third, Ultraman Leo coming fourth and Astra being the fifth. Ironically, he is the franchise's very first Pure Good.
- He, alongside Zoffy, Ultraman Ace, Ultraman Leo, Astra, and Ultraman Mebius, are the only members of the Ultra Brothers to be Pure Good.
- His status of being Pure Good is rather rare since he used to be Inconsistently Admirable due to the fact that he blew up a spaceship full of the Alien Baltans, precisely 2.3 billion of them, which is originally a questionable act and far too big of a kill count that lethal to ever make him Pure Good. However, it was confirmed by the writers that he didn't completely annihilate the Baltan race and even so, came out as justified since Ultraman likely had no choice due to the Baltans refusing to coexist with humanity despite being given the chance and nothing proves their race and the refugees are docile at nature. Therefore, he qualified as PG at that point.
- As a matter of fact, he is, so far, one of the only two Pure Goods who used to be Inconsistently Admirable, alongside Doctor Octopus.
