"W-We... We'll go..."
~ Ultraman Blazar to Gento in the finale, also his only line

Ultraman Blazar is the titular main protagonist (alongside Gento Hiruma) of the series of the same name. He is a alien from the planet M421 who was spotted by some astronauts in the 60’s, prior to bonding with Gento.

What Makes Him Pure Good[]

In General[]

  • Easily passes for saving humanity from being destroyed by Nijikagachi and Vallaron. Additionally, since he never crosses over into the M78 universe, he doesn’t have to be compared to the Ultras of those universes. Their’s also his act of preventing the moon from crashing into Earth, thus saving millions of lives.
    • It's worth to mention that Blazar's home civilization is not as advanced as that of Ultras from the M78 universe as reflected by his custom of assuming meditative stance before or after fighting an opponent as well as more primitive demeanor (habit of roaring and barking at foes, jumping in excitement over turn of events which benefit both him and his allies, and wild fighting style). But neither that nor the language barrier between him and Gento detract Blazar from being able to do the right thing.
  • While he did kill his opponents, this is par for the coarse for the franchise as the Ultras usually do this in order to prevent either the kaiju or alien invaders from hurting people and causing more destruction with Blazar being no different. Additionally, in most of these cases, they couldn’t be reasoned with. Despite this, he still went out of his way to spare some of them when the situation called for it such as Dorgo, Gavadon, Demaaga, and Baby Demaaga (in the latter two’s case, he saved them from getting killed by the military).
  • While he did kill a Tagantular in episode 3, who was later revealed to be trying to stop Valloron. He didn’t know this and genuinely thought it was just a rampaging monster. Upon realizing this when he fought another one, he stopped trying to fight it and began stopping the missiles that were being fired at it.
  • While he did force Gento to transform against his will in the first episode, this was to protect him from getting killed by a building that was about to collapse on him.
  • Throughout the series, he went out of his way to protect his human host Gento. For instances:
    • In episode 7, he retreated before Nijikagachi’s rainbow beam could hit him.
    • In episode 11, upon realizing that his attacks weren’t working on Gebalga and that the monster was getting the upper hand, he retreated.
    • Additionally, he earlier influenced Gento to order Anri and Earth Garon to try and retreat from Gebalga as well.
    • In episode 23, he forced Gento to punch himself so that he could get proper rest upon noticing he was neglecting his physical health.
    • In episode 24, he sacrificed his own life by letting himself drift in space while also separating from Gento and sending him back to Earth Garon so that he and his team could return back to Earth.
  • Throughout the series, he occasionally took control of Gento and began watching the news in order to learn more about humanity and gain more information.
