NIGHT FIVE | Five Nights at Freddy's Movie (2022) is a free to watch fan film made by the channel of the name of Ex Blue which is based around the popular game series Five nights at Freddy's. The film was both directed and written by Matthew Stacey and was produced by the channel Ex Blue.
Who is he and what has he done?[]
Michael Schmidt Afton, is the main protagonist of the Fnaf fan film Night Five made by the channel called Blue Ex, he's the son of the former Co founder of Fazbear's, William Afton, and was the current security guard at Freddy's before it's eventually closing due to William's dismantlement of the animatronics and for the CEO, Henry Emily, trying to pin the incident on Mike, causing him to eventually get fired. During the whole film, Michael is shown as a guilt ridden and determent individual who is haunted by the shadows of the past, as he wants to make up for causing his brother's death and to set things right by trying to find Jonathan, the Former Freddy's security guard, who went missing due to the animatronics. However, as Michael progresses through the nights we get to see that he's a very respectful individual who's very polite and caring to most people, like Jonathan's mother, who he tries his best to comfort while her son is at an urgent client. This also goes to people who are rude to him and think he's crazy because he bluntly says that the animatronics move around at night. Even though Mike is trying to survive from the animatronics while also trying to find Jonathan in the mean time, Michael says that he just wants to help them showing that Michael is willing to help anyone or anything at all times. Michael can blunt at times, like when the services think he doesn't have reservation he points out that there's four people in the restaurant, or that there's something more to the animatronics even if people don't believe him and think he's crazy. A few times Michael can get angered very easily when he is lied to or if he doesn't understand what the animatronics want with him and Jonathan or when he feels like something is morally wrong
What makes him Pure Good[]
- While he did killed his younger brother, it was accident and he truly was sorry for his brother's death and in the presents he very depressed because of what happened to his brother eventually leading to him become a much better person in the present.
- After the incident of his brother's death he was told that it wasn't his fault because he was still a kid and he didn't know, but Michael still blames himself and never once tries to justified what he did, leading him to try and make up for what he did but also trying to do the right thing even if means risking his life for a guy that he doesn't even know.
- He holds onto his brother's old teddy bear, as a sort of comfort item and a drive for his motivation to set things right with his past and away to remember him.
- At the end of the film, he sets Evan's teddy bear showing that Evan was able to move on and finally get the peace that they deserved.
- He express that he wishes that he could've done more for the missing kids and wished that he known so that he could've helped them all.
- After he gets the job of being Freddy's security guard, he goes to his father's house to ask for some advice to maybe help him, but also to reassure his father that he wants to make up for what happen to Evan and to make up to him, even though William secretly hates Michael and wants to kill him.
- While he does want to mainly make up for his past actions, he's shown to be more focus on finding Jonathan and bring him home to his mother showing that he's not just doing this because he wants to make up for Evan's death, but because he generally cares and worries for Jonathan and with what's going on with the animatronics.
- He visits Jonathan's mom and tires to comfort her, even acknowledging that this must be hard for her and makes a promise to bring Jonathan home.
- He tells Jonathan's mother about why he feels the need to find Jonathan which is all because he got his brother killed accidentally showing that Mike trusts her and is willing to tell his deepest regret even if he is risking the possibility to be viewed as a untrustworthy and the possibility of a horrible person in her eyes. however, this was not the case as she was fully understanding of his mistake.
- He's shown to be very honest with people, like with Jonathan's mother stating that he's just a friend who wants to help and states while he doesn't really know Jonathan he does genuinely want to find her son.
- He shown to be really caring towards people this is shown with Jonathan, even without knowing him personally, he gradually starts to really care more about about Jonathan as he listens to Jonathan's old night guard tapes.
- After his visit with Jonathan's mom he is given Jonathan's favorite plushy and he uses it as motivation to bring Jonathan home and he also takes care of the plushy while he has it.
- He spends a lot of his free time trying to find out clues to what could've happened to Jonathan and the many unanswered questions that was caused .
- He's shown to be very caring to the animatronics once he starts to suspect that they might be alive somehow. Evening stating that he just wants to help them, not showing any sort of anger or resentment toward the animatronics for trying to kill him every night while he is there.
- He expressive a lot of angry when he feels like something is morally wrong like when Fazbear Entertainment have a contract that Jonathan or any other employee's can't go to any nearby hospitals if they are hurt on the job or when he figures out that William killed children and stuff their bodies into suits.
- He came back after his fifth night to confront fazbear entertainment and to try and save the missing children's souls only to find that they were already set free after William's "death".
- Throughout the entire film Mike is constantly insulted by the few employees, Henry, and even by his own father and instead of having any sort of retaliation or throwing any insults back he just allows them to talk down to him because he very respectful individual.
- He offers the day guard some of his free pizza even though she's not at all thankful for it.
- He expressive a lot of sadness and guilt after he thinks Jonathan might of died and still shows up to his fifth night so that he find out what is going on with the animatronics and to old out hope that Jonathan might still be alive.
- After Michael is surrounded by the animatronics he does his best to protect Jonathan from them.
- When Michael is being choked by Fred bear and is about to die, Michael's finale words are " I am sorry Evan "without even knowing that Fred bear is in fact his younger brother, Evan.
- He is shocked and angry of his father's actions, and yet still didn't attack him or run away, but instead listen to what his twisted father had to say.
- When William reveals that tried to kill him. Michael didn't try to run instead listening to his threat and then tries to rush Jonathan to a Hospital.
- He is shocked and worried when he returns to Freddy's only to find animatronics destroyed with Henry Emily gas lighting him and pinning the blame on Mike. However, this doesn't work as Mike is too worried about the animatronics.
- While at the urgent care Mike visits Jonathan so that he can not only check on him but to also give him back his spring Bonnie Plushy but only if he is okay with seeing it since it could remind him of his traumatic experience.
- At the end of the film he expressive genuinely happiness when he reunites with Evan and finds out that the souls have been set free and are now resting.
Admirable Standards[]
- He started to investigate Freddy's so that he can find Jonathan, the Former Freddy's security guard, who went missing recently.
- He took on a dangerous life threatening job that could've had him killed and proceeded to not give up and survive five nights so that he could find Jonathan.
- On his final night, he eventually rescued Jonathan from a spring lock suit and brought him to emergency care so that he can be treated.
- He tries to go back to Freddy's to save the missing children that were trapped in the suits after he brought Jonathan to safety.
- He was able to bring peace to the missing kids and his brother and finally allowed them to rest.
- He had a hand in bringing down Fazbear entertainment so they couldn't cause anymore harm even if he didn't mean to bring it down.
Corrupted Factors[]
- Michael did kill his brother and most likely bullied him however, he did feel a mass amount of guilt and pain after he killed him and is constantly in a depressed state because of it and has grew to become a better person that wants to help people.
- He has a few moments where has a out bursts in anger which leads to him taking apart to the dining room of the restaurant flipping over tables and messing the place up. However, this can be justified as he did this because he was stressed out because he just listen to what he could think of as Jonathan's death and the fact that he has been almost killed by the animatronics. Only other time he gets remotely that angry was when he confronted William about the animatronics and knowing William he just lied and told Michael to leave and never come back.
- He can be Blunt at times and a little annoyed, but he's never really rude and usually when he is pointing things out, he is usually right.
- He's shown to have some sort of want to impress his father who has shown multiple times that he does not care about Michael.
Verdict[]
Yes, despite killing his brother accidental. Mike has proven to be a really good person in the present as he (alongside Jonathan, Evan) is the only good person that were present during the film as he became a respectful, caring, heroic person and may be the Purest version of this character.
