She died a hero... twice, honestly since she was willing to stop remembering her past out of concern for her new friends.

For this proposal, looking at an FNF mod here.

What's the Work?

Lily In Grave is a Friday Night Funkin' mod involving Boyfriend and Girlfriend meeting a zombie.

Who is Lily? What Did She Do?

While out in the park, Girlfriend gets a call from her father who tells her about a flesh eating zombie on the loose. Girlfriend doesn't believe it and simply assumes her father is just trying to pull her away from Boyfriend again. However, shortly after, a zombie appears in front of them with intent to eat their brains. This zombie was named Lily Engrave. Boyfriend quickly challenges Lily to a rap battle, which Lily accepts. The ensuing battle awakens some memories in her, which has her decide not to eat her victims and instead continue to sing with them.

As they sing, more of Lily's memories begin to emerge as she remembers having an argument with her mother who said would cut her out of her life if she became a singer. When more memories came, she learned that she sacrificed herself for a fan being attacked by a psychotic murderer, resulting in the man killing her instead. Worried that her memories will be too terrible for her to bare, she asks to stop as she is worried the rest of her memories will cause her to go feral and attack her new friends. However, Boyfriend and Girlfriend make it clear that they have no intent on giving up on Lily, so they go another round which give Lily the rest of her memories back. With these, she remembers that the fan she saved was actually her mother who had secretly been supporting her, proving that her Mom never actually cut her out of her life.

Lily is relieved and happy to have regained her memories, but there was one thing she didn't mention to Boyfriend. When a zombie regains their memories, they die again. As she begins to pass, she and Boyfriend do one last song together. Lily also has a vision of her mother who promises that they will be together again. Lily worries that won't be the case though due to how many brains she ate as a zombie, believing that such actions would send her to hell. Her mother assures her that if that is the case, she would follow. Thus, Lily passes on, having fully redeemed her actions as an amoral zombie.

Before she died though, she was with her agent going to a party hosted by Daddy Dearest that they were invited to (by Mommy Mearest no less). Of course, she was supposed to dress formal, but showed up in casual attire as she claims she gave her umbrella to a child which resulted in the uniform getting drenched. Her agent doesn't buy it. While Lily's agent warned her that Daddy Dearest and Mommy Mearest are dangerous people, Lily didn't believe it one bit as she was a big fan of the two, approaching them to let them know how much she admired them and even asking to sing with Daddy Dearest at least once. Daddy Dearest at first assumes her to be another person trying to take advantage of his fame and refuses, but Mommy Mearest convinces him to give the girl what she wants saying she is harmless.

After one song, Daddy Dearest admits Lily has skill and asks for her name. Lily provides both her show name, Lily Engrave, as well as her real name, Lily Twilight. This gets Daddy Dearest to recognize her as the daughter of the one singer he saw as an equal, Flora Twilight. Regardless, he tells her to leave due to not being dressed appropriately.

As Lily and her agent leave, they have a run in with the child Lily mentioned, proving that her excuse was the truth. The child thanks Lily for the umbrella and attempts to return it. Lily tells the child she can keep it to remember her by.

Mitigating Factors

Alright. Now let's get to discussing important issues. First off, Lily trying to devour Boyfriend and Girlfriend. In that moment, she was just a zombie with no memory of who she was and simply was acting on her undead instincts. This means that during this moment, she had moral agency issues. Once she regains some of her memories, she no longer has any desire to eat them. She even tries to convince them to stop out of worry that she would have a mental breakdown from remembering everything, regress into a mindless monster, and kill them. Fortunately, that doesn't happen. What does happen is that she dies from remembering everything as she reveals that a zombie regaining their memories becomes a lifeless corpse. She isn't upset about it though and she even thanks Boyfriend.

After regaining all her memories, she expresses absolute guilt over the people she devoured and even expected to go to hell because of it. This shows that even though she had no control of those bits, she still felt remorse for it. With this, I'd say she subverts the corrupting qualities of her flesh-eating zombie instincts.

I should also note that while she states her mother was against her becoming an idol, it is never stated that her mother ordered her not to become one nor was Lily disobeying her when she worked toward such a dream, so disobedience is out of the question in that regard. Plus the fact that Lily's mother was attending her concerts anyway means her mother was actually supportive of Lily's dream and only pretended to be against it (either that or she was against it and had a change of heart later).

While Lily's agent does tell Lily to stay away from Daddy Dearest and wear a dress she was given, both instances have validated excuses. For the dress, Lily actually did put it on. It just got drenched before she could make it, forcing her to put on something more casual (while assumed to be a nothing more than a made-up excuse, the reason behind it is shown to be true at the end). As for Lily confronting Daddy Dearest despite being told not to, three things. First off, Daddy Dearest was the one who prepared the event they were attending in the first place, so an interaction was inevitable. Second, Daddy Dearest was the one who inspired Lily to become an idol in the first place. You think anybody, even the nicest of people, would be able to resist an opportunity to meet their inspiration in person, and at an event THEY were hosting? Third, Lily didn't believe the rumors that her manager states about them being bad. She even tells her manager that it is harsh to judge them based off rumors. Her approach was effectively her effort to prove that Daddy Dearest isn't a bad person and not a mere act of recklessness.

Even Mommy Mearest recognizes Lily as a harmless fan who just wants to sing with her idol rather than an egotistical singer wanting to take advantage of Daddy Dearest... And she's the one who invited Lily! This only further proves that Lily and Daddy Dearest would have met not matter what. Lily is one of the few singers to actually win Daddy Dearest's respect.

Also, while it is stated that Lily has lied before, that isn't anything demonstrating her lying on-screen, so the statement by her manager of her lying can't exactly be used against her without sufficient proof that she was actually lying (since as demonstrated, the excuse Lily did have was actually true). Even if there was, she doesn't show any signs of being dishonest even during the main week, indicating she has also subverted this quality.

One more detail, Week E is not canon, so nothing there can be utilized.

Admirable Standards

The Boyfriend and Girlfriend are really the only ones she can compare to. Those two did go out of their way to help Lily regain her memories, and they refused to stop even when Lily asks them to stop out of concern for their safety. With that said, I feel Lily stands out as she sacrificed her life to save her mother from killer without even realizing it was her mother she saved, meaning she was effectively giving her life to save somebody without knowing who it was. And it's not like she has a load of resources. She's a pop singer, not a fighter. These details along with the courage to confront Daddy Dearest I feel is enough for her to meet the standards.

Verdict

After looking over the details and knowing that she willing to protect people she didn't even know even at the cost of her own life, I gotta say that Lily is a yes.
