~ Pleakley |
Agent Wendell "Wendy" Pleakley is one of the two deuteragonists (alongside Dr. Jumba Jookiba) of Disney's Lilo & Stitch franchise.
He was a former member of the Galactic Federation and the partner of Jumba Jookiba.
He was voiced by Kevin McDonald.
What Makes Him Pure Good?[]
In General[]
- While Stitch and Jumba have done much more admirable deeds, it would be unfair for Pleakley to be compared to them, with the former being a genetic experiment with several abilities and the latter being a former evil genius with a vast intellect. And Pleakley has personally redeemed an experiment.
- While he does have some inconsiderate moments, such as referring to the experiments as little monsters and losing his temper, these are heating-up moments that are understandable considering the dangerous situations they cause. And Stitch does not object to being called a little monster.
Lilo and Stitch[]
- He immediately talked the Grand Councilwoman out of gassing all of Earth to kill Stitch, saving humanity.
- Although he initially saw mankind as bottom feeders and a lower lifeform to the mosquitos, he never once seemed to devalue the lives of human beings, including going out of his way to prevent any collateral damage to them during his mission to capture Stitch. His usage of disguises as a way to blend in also imply some degree of respect and abiding for human culture, recognizing them as sentient beings rather than animals.
- He tried stopping Jumba from capturing Stitch the way he wanted to, wanting to prevent him from endangering Lilo and causing property destruction.
- He refused to kill a mosquito and let it sit on him.
- He saved Lilo's life when her house was about to blow up.
- He helped try to rescue Lilo from Gantu.
- He sadly pleaded for the Grand Councilwoman to let Stitch stay with Lilo and Nani.
- While he claimed he hated Earth from his bad experiences on the planet, he is shown to care for human life, invalidating this as a possible corruptive quality.
- While he did have some insensitive moments, such as telling Nani she "won't have yell at anyone anymore" after Lilo was kidnapped, and refusing to rescue Lilo at first due to it being a "misuse of Galactic resources", he subverts this by the end of the movie and becomes a caring member of Lilo and Nani's family.
Stitch Has a Glitch[]
- He, along with Jumba, worked together by creating a machine to save Stitch.
- While he did dress up as a girl and try to make Nani feel jealous, he only did this because he felt sorry for David for being lonely from her being too busy to attend to him.
Stitch: The Movie[]
- He agreed to hide Jumba's experiment pods from Gantu.
- He tried to help free Jumba from Gantu and Dr. Hämsterviel.
Lilo and Stitch: The Series[]
- He only lied to his parents to escape being in a life he didn't want to live in and to make his parents happy, and he did not do so of his own volition, being influenced by his housemates. He also did so so he wouldn't have to leave his ohana.
- When he unintentionally offends Stitch when making his movie (he claims that Angel was treating him as a loser among other things), he immediately stops doing so. And he ends up being a hero completely by accident when he video tapes Angel as part of his movie and makes Lilo realize that she is a double agent.
- He saved Yaarp's life and reformed him.
- He hugged Spike (while wearing a suit of armor) which led to his reformation.
- When he found out that Jumba was creating a dangerous experiment called 627, Pleakley was horrified and attempted to tell Lilo about it, only stopping due to Jumba's threatening to poke it eye.
Leroy and Stitch[]
- Even after Jumba acted mean to him and told him he never wanted to see him again (he only did so to protect him, but Pleakley didn't know that), Pleakley still decided he wanted to visit him at his lab. This course of action ended up saving Jumba's life (as well as Stitch's), because Pleakley had a rock given to him by Lilo that could be used to escape Hamsterviel's death trap.
- He also cheered Stitch on to support him as he saved his creator and his friend from the black hole. He technically called him a little monster but he didn't object to it.
- While it is played for laughs, he considers the college staff to be more important than his own life, which is his reason for objecting to flying his rented van into a black hole.
- He helped Stitch and the rest of the experiments to defeat Leroy.
Trivia[]
- He is the only Pure Good character in the Lilo & Stitch franchise.
- It is implied, but not confirmed, that he helped Jumba escape his abusive friendship with Hamsterviel if this was confirmed it would make him even more admirable.
