Winston Zeddmore is the tritagonist of the Ghostbusters franchise.
He is the fourth member to join the team and is considered the most down to earth member.
He is played by Ernie Hudson.
What Makes Him Pure Good[]
- Throughout the first 2 films, he assisted Peter, Ray, and Egon in busting the ghosts that were terrorizing New York
- In the first film, he helped his crewmates defeat Gozer in its stay puff marshmellow man form and prevent it from destroying the world
- In the second film he helped his crewmates rescue Danna’s infant son Oscar and defeat Vigo, while also preventing the latter from possessing the former and taking over the world
- Saved Ray and Egon from getting burned alive when Vigo trapped them in a room
- In Afterlife, he helped Peter, Ray, the sprit of Egon, and Egon’s granddaughter Phoebe defeat Gozer for good
- In Frozen Empire, he helped Ray, Peter, and the new gen Ghostbusters defeat Garakka and prevent him from freezing/killing all of humanity.
- In between the events of Afterlife and Frozen Empire, he used his new found fortune/wealth (as a business man) to help give the new gen Ghostbusters access to the firehouse as well as fund the Ghostbusters Engineer Corps and Paranormal Research Center which allowed for development of new technology that could aid in catching ghost (e.g. the Proton Fields).
- In the finale of Frozen empire, he managed to twist Walter Peck's own words against him and make his condemnation of them endorsement instead, thus forcing him to support them so that his administration wouldn’t get backlash, all while preventing from shutting down the team permanently
- While he initially joined the ghostbusters just to get a paycheck, by Frozen empire, his motives became more genuinely altruistic, with him (as mentioned earlier) funding the Ghostbusters Engineer Corps and Paranormal Research Center. When discussing this with Janine, he admits that he’s a ghostbuster first and a business man second.
- In the second film, he briefly tries to fight Ray. However, this was because of the slime’s influence as they had just escape the river of slime that was underneath. Once he took it off, he went back to normal.
