Yukon Cornelius is one of the two tritagonists (alongside Clarice) of the classic 1964 Rankin/Bass holiday special Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and a major protagonist in the 2001 sequel Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and the Island of Misfit Toys. He is a prospector searching for gold and later silver in the North Pole, who befriends Rudolph and Hermey when they are running away from the Abominable Snow Monster.
He was voiced by the late Larry D. Mann in Rudolph from Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and Scott McNeil in Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and the Island of Misfit Toys.
What Makes Him Pure Good?[]
- He befriended Rudolph and Hermey and helped them escape from the Abominable Snow Monster.
- He agreed to help the Misfit Toys find homes along with his two best friends.
- He and Hermey returned to Christmas town to help Rudolph save Clarice and his parents from the Abominable Snow Monster, playing a big part in defeating the monster by knocking him out and driving him off a cliff (seemingly sacrificing himself). He also redeemed the monster (whom he called "Bumble") while they were at the bottom of the cliff.
- He helped save Christmas by aiding his allies in decorating the workshop and load the sleigh.
- He helped Rudolph, Hermey, Clarice, and Bumble stop the Toy Taker by disguising himself as a toy and fighting the villain on top of his blimp. When the Toy Taker tried to escape again, Yukon lassoed him with some of Hermey's dental floss.
