Zoffy, also known as Ultraman Zoffy, is a major protagonist in the Ultraman franchise, having made his first appearance in the series finale of the original Ultraman series.

He is a superior officer within the Inter Galactic Defense Force and is considered the leader of the Ultra brothers. Additionally, he also has the distinction of being the second ever Ultra Brother to appear in the franchise, with him having made other appearances afterwards where he helps out the other Ultras during times of need.

What Makes Him Pure Good?[]

In General[]

  • While the admirable standards are high due to multiple Ultramen from newer generations crossing over to the M78 Universe. Like with Ultraman, Zoffy has fewer resources and lacks extra forms or abilities all while managing to use the fullest of them.
  • It’s heavily implied in Ultraman Mebius, that during each of the Ultra brothers’ time on Earth, he regularly fought off against Alien invaders at the farther ends of the galaxy.
  • Due to his and the rest of the Ultra brothers’ heroic deeds, he inspired Mebius to want to protect Earth himself.

Background[]

  • During Ultraman Belial’s first invasion of the land of light, he fought off against his army of monsters and later tried to protect  both Ken and Marie from him by acting as a shield.
  • During Dark Zagi’s attack on the Land of light, he briefly fought against him and later assisted Ultraman Noa in forcing him away from M78 with the help of the other members of the Space Garrison.
  • Even though it hasn’t been shown, he did lots of admirable deeds before saving Ultraman as evidenced by the star marks on his chest and shoulders which within the world of M78 is a ranking system that represents medals of honor. Because of this, he was ultimately chosen as the leader of the Ultra brothers.
  • At some point during Ultraman’s time on Earth, he saved Captain Shingo Sakimuzu from an alien invasion fleet. Because of this act, it made Sakimuzu realize how much the Ultras were actually doing for humanity without them knowing and eventually lead to him giving his testimony of the event and causing the formation of GUYS.
    • Additionally, after saving Sakimuzu, he stated to him that the Ultras would serve as humanity’s protectors but that humanity would eventually fight side by side alongside the Ultras, which Sakimuzu ultimately took to heart during his time as Captain of GUYS.

Ultraman[]

  • In the series finale, following Zetton’s defeat,he arrived on Earth in order to rescue Ultraman after the former had damaged his warning light. During his conversation with Ultraman, he initially intended on restoring only him back to health rather than his human host, Shin Hayata. However, after seeing how much Ultraman cared for Hayata and for humanity as a whole, he instead restored both of them of them before eventually separating the two and bringing the former back to M78.

  • He is the second Ultraman from the Showa generation to be Pure Good, with Ultraman being the very first, Ultraman Ace coming third, Ultraman Leo coming fourth, and Astra being fifth
  • He, alongside Ultraman, Ultraman Ace, Ultraman Leo, Astra, and Ultraman Mebius, are the only members of the Ultra Brothers to be Pure Good. Ironically, he is the leader of the brothers.
  • His counterpart in Shin Ultraman is far from qualifying as Pure Good, or even as a hero, as that version takes on a more antagonistic role and is portrayed as an amoral and misanthropic being who tries to destroy humanity by sending Zetton to Earth.
